The Dating Charade by Melissa Ferguson is $2.99! This is more fiction with romantic elements, as reviews say the main characters’ storylines deal heavily with being caretakers. It’s also an inspie, if I believe. Have you read this one?
RECOMMENDED: Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews is $2.99! Many of us romance readers can’t recommend this series or this author enough. You can pick this one up without read the story arc of the previous three, but why would you want to deprive yourself of Ilona Andrews goodness.
If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading September’s New Releases, Part One→
RECOMMENDED: Wrong to Need You by Alisha Rai is $3.99! So many of Avon’s titles are $3.99 right now and I’m including a couple in this post. This is the notorious cat pee book. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read Elyse’s review:
I do not think I can possibly endorse Wrong to Need You more strongly than “it will make you forget you’re sitting in cat pee,” but if I could, I would, because this book is everything wonderful. It’s angsty and cathartic and sexy…
Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal. We did a Cover Reveal for this one, since it was such an interesting departure from Kearsley’s usual covers. Some readers felt this one was slow to start, while others loved Kearlsey’s beautiful writing. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
Spellbound by Allie Therin is $1.99! This is a gay fantasy historical romance with a dash of mystery. Most readers loved the writing, while others wished the execution were better. Reviews also mention that this one has closed door/off the page sex scenes.
Even though at first I found this book to be slow going, I came to appreciate it for its intersectional feminism and its unabashed adoration of all the science and math that goes into making space flight possible.

RECOMMENDED: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang is $2.99! I’m jealous of those who get to read this for the first time. We had a wonderful guest squee of this and it was my favorite read of 2018:
I truly loved this book. Loved. It made me feel like a champagne bubble – all fizzy and light. When I think of all the magical feelings romance gives its readers, I will forever think of this book.
A Desperate Fortune by Susanna Kearsley is $2.51 at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere! Like Kearsley’s other books, it has strong romantic elements and dual timelines. Many readers loved Sara, a woman who’s been diagnosed with Asperger’s and takes a job as a codebreaker, but other readers found the book took a while to get going. Are you a Kearsley fan?
Lady Derring Takes a Lover by Julie Anne Long is $1.99! This is the first book in The Palace of Rogues series and Carrie gave it a B-. Carrie really loved the heroine and the introduction to some awesome and strong women. However, she felt the romance was rather weak and there was a plot twist she didn’t quite care for.
