A Desperate Fortune by Susanna Kearsley is $2.99! Like Kearsley’s other books, it has strong romantic elements and dual timelines. Many readers loved Sara, a woman who is on the Autism spectrum and takes a job as a codebreaker, but other readers found the book took a while to get going. Are you a Kearsley fan?

This book is really two mysteries in one, and when they collide it’s a wonderful “ah-ha” moment. I wish I could say more than that, but I don’t want to ruin a single thing for another reader.

Listen to Me by Kristen Proby is $1.99! Both Sarah and I picked it as part of a previous April’s Hide Your Wallet post. Readers recommend this if you want something sexy, but easy on the angst. However, some expressed difficulty maintaining their interest. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.
Firestorm is definitely someone’s catnip. There are dragon shifters. There is epic love. The word “eons” is used unironically. RECOMMENDED: Warrior by Zoe Archer is $1.99! This is the first book in the Blades of the Rose series and I devoured these books. This one was adventurous and fun, plus had a bit of a gruff hero. However, I’m unsure about how well these have held up in the last eight years.
These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas is $2.99! I mentioned this book in the February 2016 Hide Your Wallet post and it was described as Jane Austen meets X-Men! Many readers loved the main character. However, there seem to be some complaints about the ending and its lack of resolution, but that could be because it’s part of a series.
From Duke Till Dawn by Eva Leigh is $1.99! This is the first book in The London Underground series and featured a heroine who previously had conned the hero. Many really liked the heroine and how smart and resourceful she was. However, others wished the hero and heroine had more dynamic interactions.
RECOMMENDED: Opening Up by Lauren Dane is $2.99! This is the first book in the Ink & Chrome erotic contemporary series. Elyse gave the book an A-:
First of all, let’s take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the cover of Opening Up is. I’d hang that on my wall. I really would. But the contents of the book are just as lovely.
Still this book was incredibly sexy and often very funny. It made me duck out on the coworker I was traveling with: “I’d love to go to TGI Fridays with you, but PJ and Asa have a new leather cane they’ve been dying to try out and also I need to know how his weenus piercing feels without a condom, so I’m gonna just head up to my room, ‘kay, thanks.”
