I’ve read a lot of books recently in which the romance was the least interesting part of the book. This book gave me the opposite feeling. Ari and Russell are nice people who are nice to spend time with, so while this book was not, shall we say, action packed, it was a lovely story about being honest with and about yourself and others and finding unexpected love.
How You Get the Girl by Anita Kelly is $2.99! This is book three in the Nashville Love series! Many readers of the Bitchery have enjoyed Kelly’s queer contemporaries and it was recommended in a recent Rec League on women’s leagues and national teams.
The Blighted Stars is the first book in a series, so we don’t get a ton of resolution in this novel, romantic or otherwise. If you’re looking for a complete romantic arc, don’t start this book.
Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie is $2.99! know Carrie really loves this book (and the entire series, I believe). It’s also a Hugo Award winner! Readers really loved the scifi world building, though some admitted wanting more action in the first book of the Imperial Radch series
A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston is $1.99! The heroine finds herself in a small town romance novel and I’m definitely tempted by the meta-ness of it all. However, Poston’s romances have always been middle of the road for me personally.
A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting by Sophie Irwin is $1.99! This one was mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet, though we don’t have a formal review. Did any of you read it? What did you think?
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by NK Jemisin is $1.99! This is a fantasy novel with a bit of romance and a strong, fierce heroine who is MUCH loved by readers. This book was nominated for the Hugo, the Nebula, and won the Locus for Best First Novel.
Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha is $1.99! This is book one in Bound to Fire and Steel fantasy romance series. Book two is out this August. Did any of you pick this one up? If so, what did you think?
Lunar Love by Lauren Kung Jessen is $3.99! Aarya mentioned this one a previous Hide Your Wallet and was tempted by the main characters being enemies in the matchmaking industry.
Babel by R.F. Kuang is $2.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, as are all of today’s featured sales. Definitely check out the big list, as there is more worth grabbing. This one was both highly anticipated and ended up being a major seller. Did any of you pick this one?
The Killing Moon by N.K. Jemisin is $2.99! This is an earlier title of Jemisin’s and the first book in the Dreamblood series. How do you think it compares to the rest of her titles?
