Menopause, and its hot sister, Perimenopause: they come for us all, and wow, can it be a ride. I was not informed at all about menopause by anyone in my life, and learned about it the same way I learned about sex: through books. The sex books were romances, which wasn’t always great, and Judy Blume books, which turned me off of the name “Ralph” for the entirety of my life. Come Together by Emily Nagoski is $1.99 and is a KDD! I believe this is Nagoski’s latest non-fiction. Her books have been highly recommended on the site and she’s been on the podcast a couple times.
A Bride for the Prizefighter by Alice Coldbreath is $2.99! This is book one in the Victorian Prizefighters series. I’ve heard such good things about Coldbreath’s romance. Would you recommend starting here?
RECOMMENDED: The Menopause Manifesto by Dr. Jen Gunter is $3.99! Tara gave it an A:
If your field of fucks is completely barren and you just want some straightforward, evidence-based information served with a healthy dose of snark and the occasional jab at pseudoscience and Gwyneth Paltrow, this will be the book for you.
The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon is $1.99! This was Guanzon’s debut and is a fantasy romance. I believe Elyse mentioned this one on a previous Hide Your Wallet. This is also a title that joins the ranks of published Reylo fics.

Malice by Heather Walter is $1.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! This was mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet and is a spin on Sleeping Beauty. This is definitely on the darker side and has a romance between Princess Aurora and the evil sorceress.
I should have been able to read A Duke in Shining Armor in a day. Instead, it took me a week. And do you know why? Because I purposely kept putting it down once I realized that eventually I would RUN OUT OF BOOK. How DARE this book be over?
RECOMMENDED: Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall is $2.99! Carrie and I jointly reviewed this one and agreed on a B+. As a bisexual woman, I definitely felt seen by this book and I’m here for all the baking romance reads.
I believe this is new for our “Best Of” week, but I challenged each of our reviewers to pick their favorite book they read in 2021, whether they reviewed it or not. The book didn’t have to release in 2021, though. Some of them weren’t too happy they had to pick just one, though this place would be absolutely lawless if I didn’t make rules! Here are our favorites of the year! We’d also love … Continue reading Our Favorite Reads of 2021→
