Cinder House
RECOMMENDED: Cinder House by Freya Marske is $2.99! Carrie reviewed this and gave it a B+:
Cinder House is such a clever, inventive, re-imaging of Cinderella! This novella stuffs in a lot at the last minute, but other than that, it’s perfect.
Sparks fly and lovers dance in this gorgeous, yearning Cinderella retelling from bestselling author Freya Marske—a queer Gothic romance perfect for fans of Naomi Novik and T. Kingfisher.
Ella is a haunting.
Murdered at sixteen, her ghost is furiously trapped in her father’s house, invisible to everyone except her stepmother and stepsisters.
Even when she discovers how to untether herself from her prison, there are limits. She cannot be seen or heard by the living people who surround her. Her family must never learn she is able to leave. And at the stroke of every midnight, she finds herself back on the staircase where she died.
Until she forges a wary friendship with a fairy charm-seller, and makes a bargain for three nights of almost-living freedom. Freedom that means she can finally be seen. Danced with. Touched.
You think you know Ella’s the ball, the magical shoes, the handsome prince.
You’re halfway right, and all-the-way wrong.
Rediscover a classic fairy tale in this debut novella from “the queen of romantic fantasy” (Polygon).

A Wallflower’s Guide to Viscounts and Vice
A Wallflower’s Guide to Viscounts and Vice by Manda Collins is $1.99! This is book one in a new historical romance series and features a grumpy/sunshine romance.
A sunshine spinster and a grumpy viscount use their fake engagement to solve a murder mystery in the first book of a new series from Manda Collins.
A wallflower by choice, wealthy Lucy Penhallow would rather sit out the dancing all season than listen to false flattery from the fortune hunters who pursue her. But when she and her best friend’s brother witness a crime in progress, they’ll need to put every skill Lucy’s learned from reading detective stories to the test in their hunt for a missing woman. And if Viscount Gilford happens to be handsome as sin and clever to boot? Well, that’s no hardship for her.
Viscount Gilford needs a wife to save him from financial ruin, and there’s only one heiress who’s off limits. So when he and Lucy find themselves inextricably linked in the tabloids, it’s a disaster. As their investigation progresses, their once unwelcome alliance becomes something more—a love match neither will give up. But there’s a killer watching their romance from the wings who’s only too happy to keep these meddlesome sleuths together . . . in the afterlife.

Land of the Beautiful Dead
Land of the Beautiful Dead by R. Lee Smith is $2.49 at Amazon! This was recommended in a horror romance Rec League. It was also mentioned in the comments for Rec Leagues on post-apocalyptic romance and monster romances for beginners. I highly recommend checking for trigger warnings for this one.
SHE WOULD DARE ANYTHING TO SAVE THE WORLD FROM HIS RULE.
EVEN HIS BED.
He ascended from the darkness years ago—Azrael the Eternal, Azrael the Undying, Azrael Who Is Death—bringing with him the black rains, the fires, the souring of the sky, and the Eaters. Now he rules in the walled city of Haven with his favored Children and his dead court, while all that is left of the living struggles to survive in the ruins of a world that used to be their own. But even as extinction looms, humanity will never surrender to their monstrous conqueror.
For Lan, this brutal life has been the only one she’s ever known, but she still believes it can change. If the war can never truly end until the Eaters are ended, she will go to Haven, to Azrael himself, and demand he end them. To her surprise, she does not immediately die the hero’s death she expected. Instead, Azrael offers her a chance to convince him, and all she has to do is submit herself to the chill embrace of the lord of the Land of the Beautiful Dead.
From the author of The Scholomance and The Last Hour of Gann comes a new vision of erotic horror! This book contains explicit sex and gore and is intended for mature readers only.

The Regency Romances by Laura Kinsale is $3.99! This set collects three historical romances by Kinsale, though there are more individual titles on sale. Books in this collection include Midsummer Moon, My Sweet Folly, and Uncertain Magic.
A trio of captivating historical romances by a New York Times–bestselling author whose “work is unfailingly brilliant and beautiful” (Julia Quinn).

This trio of enchanting love stories introduces unforgettable couples who leap off the pages and into our hearts.
Midsummer Moon: Merlin Lambourne has invented the “speaking box”—a sort of telephone—which is so valuable that Napoleon has killed for it. Sent by the crown to bring both inventor and invention to safety, Ransom Falconer, Duke of Damerell, is shocked to learn the eccentric genius is female. More shocking is how beguiled he is by her. Now if he could just get her mind out of the clouds and convince her to marry him . . .

My Sweet Folly: In a loveless marriage, Folie Hamilton finds her lonely days brightened by letters from her husband’s cousin, Lt. Robert Cambourne, stationed in Calcutta. Unbidden love blossoms, yet upon the death of her husband, Robert’s last letter shatters her heart with three words: I am married. Four years later, Robert summons Folie and her stepdaughter to England. But the haunted widower is not the man she once knew; he has become paranoid and delusional. In this RITA Award nominee, will Folie find the man who once captured her heart?
“Laura Kinsale is one of the romance genre’s brightest stars.” —Loretta Chase
Uncertain Magic: In nineteenth-century Ireland, Roddy Delamore has little chance of finding a husband, cursed as she is with the gift of mind reading. Privy to the dishonorable thoughts of her suitors, she seizes on the chance to marry Faelan Savigar, the Earl of Iveragh, despite his poor reputation and murky past. Condemned by dark rumors, Lord Iveragh is taken aback by the woman’s proposal. How is it that she believes in him? And does he dare give her his heart?
“First-rate . . . Laura Kinsale delivers powerful unique romance.” —Amanda Quick

I’m shocked that Manda Collins book is published by a trad pub like Forever. The cover is wonky compared to her other titles.
