I really loved the first book in this series, A Promise of Fire, to which I gave an A grade. What I enjoyed so much about the book is how Cat is an anti-heroine. It’s a great role reversal. She’s tortured and broody and doesn’t always make the purest choices. The hero is her salve and he’s been chosen to help her heal, rather than the usual other way around. I also highly recommend the books for nerds of Greek mythology. I suggest reading through the comments on my review as well to get a broader look at how other readers felt about the book.

Since I live in Arizona, I can’t quite dream of curling up on a cold day by a fire to read the book. But I can use one of those fireplace tracks on Netflix and pretend I’m huddled up with my book against the might of winter. Really, when it comes to Amanda Bouchet though, I’ll read her wherever I can get her.
Cuddled up with a cat on the couch under a blanket, and hopefully before my friends so I can rub it in their faces!! 🙂

In my favorite reading spot- my papasan chair, curled up with a mug of hot cocoa and a warm blanket. I have winter break coming up and I already told the family that I have some days blocked off just for “hibernation.” This book would be perfect for my hibernation!
Well, first, I’d have to re-read the early books to get in the appropriate kickass mindset and then I’d want to read it holed up under blankets with a series of delicious drinks (coffee –> tea –> wine –> whiskey… depending on how long it took to read).
Next to the fire in the lobby of Skamania Lodge, with a cup of hot cocoa, while my husband and son play chess and my daughter is reading her own book next to me.

I’m not saying I would crawl across broken glass on my hands and knees to get my hands on a copy of the early release Heart on Fire, but I’m open to walking across a pit of fire, especially if I can cuddle up with the book and recover enjoying a nice glass of Moscato afterwards.
To read the book. I would have to prepare first. Given how much I LOVED loved her first two books, I probably will do the following. Read it through really fast so I know WHAT HAPPENS NEXT and then go back and re-read. I probably will binge through ALL three books despite having re reading the first two books after the free preview chapter of book 3.
I am not planning to travel fr my cosy cottage which is furnished with my carpet collection, comfy couch, and fuzzy dog, in Silver Spring, MD. I need to lay in supplies. This combines my second love, cooking. Since I LOVE these books, I will want my favorite foods to give me strength. I may have to Instacart in a cheese selection fr Balducci’s. Dorie Greenspan is my cooking idol. So I’ll make her gorgonzola and apple tart and her salted chocolate caramel bars. I figure with it being winter, I need some melted cheese and then chocolate to keep up my strength. I’ll probably start reading under the electric blanket (it is winter), then wear my super warm lavender fluffy bathrobe fr Turkey while reading during breakfast. I’ll move to the couch with memory foam cushions with my fav warm outfit and cashmere socks. I’ll surface for quiche and then chocolate. As a pastor,it is hard to find time for pleasure reading. I would curl up and read about Cat in between my morning and evening services on Sunday. My favorite way to relax.
I’d like to read it late into the night while curled up in bed…with the benefit of not having to wake up at a designated time the following morning!

I love reading with a cup of Tulsi tea, cozy pajamas and under my heated blanket. Candle is needed for ambience and sometimes I turn on Netflix’s Fireplace for the Home to really get in the mood!

I’d read it whilst balancing a cup of tea and some chocolate (milk and dark, of course) on my growing baby bump, with my cat beside me in bed. With the air con full blast as it’s summer here and I’ve got a case of the hot flashes!

My husband and I are going on our honeymoon in Antarctica, so it would be magical to read Heart on Fire while we’re traveling through the Drake Passage aboard an expedition vessel.

I would spent my time reading this book first soaking in the tub then relaxing under the covers in bed. All cozy!!! This I could read in one night!!!
