Giveaway: Advanced Reader Copies of Heart on Fire by Amanda Bouchet

Heart on Fire
A | BN | AB
As promised in our Heart on Fire chapter one reveal last month, we now have a giveaway for the conclusion to the Kingmaker Chronicles!

Heart on Fire by Amanda Bouchet releases on January 2, 2018 and is the final book in the Kingmaker Chronicles trilogy. But we have five ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) to give to five lucky readers!

And if you’re curious (like me, I admit) you can follow Amanda on Facebook to get details her next writing project.

I really loved the first book in this series, A Promise of Fire, to which I gave an A grade. What I enjoyed so much about the book is how Cat is an anti-heroine. It’s a great role reversal. She’s tortured and broody and doesn’t always make the purest choices. The hero is her salve and he’s been chosen to help her heal, rather than the usual other way around. I also highly recommend the books for nerds of Greek mythology. I suggest reading through the comments on my review as well to get a broader look at how other readers felt about the book.

If you’re looking to start the series, A Promise of Fire ( A | BN | K | G | AB ) is currently available for less than $3, as is its sequel, Breath of Fire ( A | BN | AB ).

We want to thank the Sourcebooks Casablanca team for providing 5 ARCs to give away to our readers. Thanks, Sourcebooks!

To enter, just leave a comment telling us the ideal way you’d want to enjoy Heart on Fire! A readathon with friends? A comfy blanket and a glass of wine? In a hammock on a sunny beach somewhere?

Standard disclaimers apply: Open to US and Canadian readers. Crying is always allowed when a series ends. Please, no practicing of fire magic indoors. And should any of you become a ruler of a magical kingdom, be sure to mind your manners and pick out a badass crown. Comments will close Friday 8 December and the winners announced shortly afterward.

Good luck, everyone!

  1. Carolyn says:

Snuggled under the blanket with my dog. My dog would be attempting to wrestle the covers away from me. But I would not care because I’d be reading Amanda Bouchet’s Heart on Fire.

  2. Patti (@thelovejunkee) says:

OMG I can’t wait – I read these books as they came out and just recently listened to the audiobooks so I am sooooo ready for Heart on Fire!! Ideal reading spot for this one – my comfy recliner, with blankets, hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows, and the house is silent (no TV, no radio).

  3. HL says:

I agree with every post that says ‘couch, fireplace and wine.’ If nobody else is home, even better!

  4. Stephanie says:

Curled up on the couch in front of the heater with my dog and cat 🙂

  5. SusanK says:

Sitting on my couch covered in a blanket with the cat on my lap and a cup of coffee on the table in front of me. Thanks!

  6. Kathy L. says:

So, the best way to read this would be in the bathtub, hot water up to my neck. My spouse would bring me the occasional beverage and small bowl of chocolate. Refill with warm water as needed. Yup, I’m spoiled.

  7. Stephanie Gerstein says:

Because it’s colder up here in NH… a massive snowstorm so I can’t leave the house… snuggled up on a comfy chair with some hot chocolate…

  8. Judy W. says:

I take these books to work with me (flight attendant) and I have a lot of down time on long trips from the US to Asia. I plan to read this one on the edge of my jumpseat! In front of an audience of passengers most likely.

  9. Lori says:

I am very fortunate to be going on a Christmas cruise with my husband and this series sounds like the best sort of cruise reading!

  10. Lorraine says:

Yes, yes, yes! I’ve been waiting impatiently for this to come out. I would just sit down and open the book and read.

  11. Jess G.S. says:

I’d read it on the couch, curled up with a pile of blankets and a glass of red wine!

  12. EC Spurlock says:

Preferably with the other two books 🙂 which I will have to pick up as well…

  13. Ashley Startin says:

Oh my gosh, I wanna read this in one sitting all snuggled under the covers in my comfy bed!

  14. Avengela says:

Ideally, I would enjoy it immediately after reading Breath of Fire. I own Breath of Fire, but have been holding off on reading it because I know as soon as I finish it I’ll want to start on Heart of Fire. I don’t handle cliffhangers well.

  15. Andrea Franklin says:

In my bed with tons of pillows and when my kids and husband are not home to interrupt.

  16. Turquoise says:

Gotta have a glass of red wine, some warm bread with olive oil with background noise. I’d put on a Harry Potter marathon or the soundtrack to Pride and Prejudice. It works for me. 😉

  17. Erica L says:

I would enjoy it lounging on the couch with a nice cup of coffee and some fresh baked gingersnaps. I really want to bake gingersnaps this week. I really like this series! Thanks for the giveaway.

  18. flchen1 says:

Curled up in a favorite armchair, with the heat blasting, and everyone else out having fun doing something 🙂

  19. Amber says:

At the beach in the NZ sun!

  20. Sabrina says:

Snuggled on the couch with my dogs in front of the fireplace.

  21. Abby says:

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever! I’d want to savor it throughout a day wrapped in blankets and cats sipping tea. I’d want to linger over it while I should be doing adult things (like cleaning). I want to sip it and drink hot chocolate like it’s my Christmas gift.

  22. Karen says:

I would read it in bed on a cold, December night snuggled under the covers with a mug of chai tea and cookies.

  23. Karen says:

I would read it snuggled under the covers on a cold December evening with a mug of chai tea and some cookies.

  24. RB says:

On the couch with a blanket, preferably on a rainy weekend!

  25. Galia says:

Definitely in a blanket cocoon with some strong milky tea and Rainy Mood blasting through my iPhone’s speakers.

  26. Shelby Cowan says:

I would love to say in my bed cozy and warm with great snacks. BUT since this is real life….It’s going to be anywhere I happen to be..home, work, bathroom stall while at work (don’t judge), on the bus, back at home, and maybe by then..I’ll be rereading the parts I missed and hoping that maybe just maybe the last page says TO BE CONTINUED….

  27. MadMadamM says:

I plan to read the book lounging in my comfy chair by the window with an electric throw blanket and dog for warmth!!

  28. JenM says:

My ideal way to read this would be curled up in my reading chair on a rainy day with a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows.

  29. HollyS says:

In my reading chair snuggled under the afghan I’m about to crochet.

  30. BC says:

Under the cherry tree out front of my house, there is a hammock. A mite cold, perhaps, but reading a book there on a lazy summer day is sublime. Reading the further adventures of Cat? Yum.

  31. Sasha R. says:

I’m not picky, just a simple tropical beach with free beverages and snacks. I’d obviously need a beautiful lifeguard to keep me safe. Reading can be dangerous. Humble things, y’know?

  32. Susan says:

    Couch, cat, tea, book.

  33. Juli says:

Rainy, quiet weekend in a clean, cozy home. So, someone will have to do my work, clean my home and occupy my kids. Rain, though, we seem to have.

  34. Emory says:

The way I would read this amazing book is curled up in my apartment with coffee then wine because it would be a full out binge reading. Mostly as a reward for living through taking chemistry and A&P II at the same time.

  35. Jennifer S says:

I’ve held off on Book 2 so that I could read it and Book 3 back to back. So that will be my preferred way of reading. I was late to the party and just read Book 1 in October and it was amazing. It’s been hard holding off on Book 2 but I knew waiting between Book 1 and 2 would be easier than Book 2 and 3!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  36. Marisa Younker says:

Warm, fuzzy jammies curled up in a warm blanket in bed with my kitty. Sounds like the petty way to enjoy a book.

  37. Julie Dup says:

    In bed with soft blanket.

  38. Shiny says:

On the 15 hour plan ride I have next week, so that I can gobble it up all at once with no where else to be

  39. Danielle says:

On a snow day where I don’t have to go anywhere. I would wrap up in bed with a comfy pile of blankets and pillows with a Diet Dr Pepper

  40. Angela says:

I would clear out my calendar Sunday and savor the book all day while eating delicious fruit snacks.
