It’s Wednesday! Wow, this week is feeling like a slog. Does anyone else feel like that? I think it’s because I just got back from vacation and hopped right back into work. But there are some things I’m looking forward to! Don’t you worry! I’m kickstarting my cheese course. My friend and I are attended a red wine and cheese pairing class on Thursday. Dungeons & Dragons resumes on Sunday afternoon. My partner and I are … Continue reading Links: Trailers, Fundraisers, & More→
It’s the last Wednesday of 2020. THANK GOD! Soon, we will be free of this hellish year. Are any of you celebrating New Year’s with lowkey plans? My boyfriend and I are toying with the idea of buying a lovely meal to pick up from a local restaurant. Obviously, we aren’t going out, but I still want to eat some fancy food! Cheers and Happy New Year! … This profile on the bucatini shortage of … Continue reading Links: Pasta, Tea, & More→
Overall, even though I did enjoy reading most of this book, I was left feeling kind of lukewarm due to the stalling plot and not quite satisfying romance. I think if you have been reading and liking the series so far there is plenty to like here, especially if you are interested in spending more time with the characters we have already been introduced to.
There’s a reason I’m mad about tropes. I like to follow a familiar groove, one that hits all the emotional high points that I need. While these old favourites feel slightly stiff in places, overall, it was just the kind of emotional rollercoaster I love being on.
Hey, everyone! It’s quite an interesting time to exist on this earth. There are lots of things to worry about, namely the upcoming election and COVID-19. I want to stress how important it is to take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Breaks from social media have helped me. For physical stuff, do some social distancing if you can (read some books!) and keep washing those hands! Stay safe out there, friends! … Think dogs … Continue reading Links: The Ripped Bodice Diversity Report, KitchenAid, & More→
An Untamed State by Roxane Gay is $1.99! This is a highly recommended piece of contemporary fiction. It’s harrowing and emotional as it chronicles a woman’s kidnapping, rescue, and recovery. This is Gay’s debut novel and there are definitely some trigger warnings for this book. For those who have read it, what did you think?
Happy Wednesday! Please bear with me as I’ve been up since 6:30am to squeeze in some gym time and attend my rearranged therapy appointment before Boston gets snow. If all goes according to plan, I will be napping by the time you all are reading this. … Did you know that actress Krysten Ritter (of Netflix’s Jessica Jones) is a fantastic knitter? I did not! But check out this video of Ritter giving some knitting tips … Continue reading Links: Armie Hammer, Knitting, & Movie News→
Happy Hump Day! These links are all about writing, reading, and romance, which are a few of our favorite things in the Bitchery. I hope your week is going well and, if it isn’t, you’re able to engage in some self-care soon! … If you’re hoping to get in shape after all the holiday eat, Meljean Brook has put together a rather unorthodox superhero workout regimen. The regimen was inspired by some rather athletic-looking Justice League action … Continue reading Links: Writing Advice, Royal Romances, & Hillary Clinton→

Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan is $1.99! This is the first book in a new series and readers loved how fun it was and note there’s some pretty great female friendships. However, others mention slow pacing and the lackluster chemistry between the hero and heroine.
We’re back to our regularly scheduled programming this week with Wednesday Links. However, there are a lot of links in this post. Hopefully, the bigger dose will help get you to Friday! … This has come up on a previous podcast and thanks to Reader Abbey J for sending this link to us, but what’s the deal with all the “Girl” titles: Who are these girls? Why are there so many of them? Books with … Continue reading Links: Book Titles, Wine, & a Visual Romance Kickstarter→
