Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses. It’s Wednesday! Wow, this week is feeling like a slog. Does anyone else feel like that? I think it’s because I just got back from vacation and hopped right back into work. But there are some things I’m looking forward to! Don’t you worry!

I’m kickstarting my cheese course. My friend and I are attended a red wine and cheese pairing class on Thursday. Dungeons & Dragons resumes on Sunday afternoon. My partner and I are touring an apartment over the weekend. Might be most excited for that one!

Also, is anyone watching The Last of Us TV show? It’s definitely a good start and is hitting some major story beats from the game, while giving it a more narrative appeal (no hours of sneaking around, trying to stealth up on zombies). My only complaint right now is that the game did a great job creating a sense of place in a post-apocalyptic Boston. The show, however, doesn’t feel like Boston.

Author Grace Draven has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. Her sister has started a GoFundMe for her medical care. Romancelandia has come out and already exceeded the initial fundraising goal, but every bit helps.

Vanity Fair had a recent profile of Channing Tatum. While it’s a charming article, the real nugget is the fact that he’s working on writing a romance novel with Roxane Gay. Hello!

One of my favorite historical jokes is people always assuming women were merely roommates or good friends rather than lovers. McSweeney’s has a modern take on this: Ten Possibilities the Applebee’s Waitress Considers Before It Occurs to Her the Women in Booth Fourteen Might Be a Couple with Two Children.

This movie looks like such fun and I can’t wait to see it.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

  2. FashionablyEvil says:

I once saw a t-shirt that said, “My ideal weight is Channing Tatum on top of me.”

I wasn’t brave enough to buy it or wear it, but he keeps proving that the sentiment is correct!

Me Today: I’m not going to post on Wednesday links today, I’m going to be more chill.

Oh my god, the Smart Bitches would love this!

I’m always a sucker for hearing stories of adult education and people learning to love books. At any age.

Jill, please don’t be chill! Share all the links!!

  5. Heather M says:

I’ve never quite gotten Channing Tatum, personally, at least I hadn’t until I saw The Lost City. A romance novel with Roxanne Gay sounds equally delightful.

  6. Sue says:

Polite Society looks like fun, though I probably won’t get around to seeing it until it’s available streaming. I know myself.

  7. CK says:

Thanks for sharing the Grace Draven Go Fund Me! I’m not on the socials much so I would have missed it!
