Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep is the first book in a fantasy series that features a badass female gladiator on a quest to reclaim the throne from her murderous cousin. It’s tremendous fun, although it wraps up quickly.
A Tempest of Desire by Lorraine Heath is $1.99! This released last December and we’ve heard good things about the crazysauce plot. Did any of you pick this one up?
RECOMMENDED: The Stand-In by Lily Chu is $1.99! This is a debut contemporary romance. Elyse gave this one an A:
So we have a celebrity romance, women being friends and helping each other with their mental health, and reflections on identity and community. That’s a lot to pack into a book, but it all works and delivered by Philippa Soo’s incredibly soothing voice, it was totally my jam.
Happily Never After by Lynn Painter is $1.99! This was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet and features two characters who get hired to shout “I object” at weddings. Did any of you pick this up?
RECOMMENDED: Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett is $2.99! Lara wrote a Lightning Review of this one and gave it an A:

Happy Place by Emily Henry is $4.99! Henry’s books don’t go on super sale very often so this may be the best price we’re getting in terms of a discount! Do you have a favorite Henry romance?
Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman is $2.99! This one has been recommended on several podcasts we’ve done with other romance authors. I remember this being shelved as fiction in some bookstores, so I’ve also been hesitant to pick it up as a romance. Any thoughts?
Chaos Reigning by Jessie Mihalik is $1.99! Ellen reviewed it, giving it a B-:
I think if you have enjoyed the series overall this is a worthwhile read, but I wish my expectations had not been so high coming off the second book.
