The Late Mrs. Willoughby by Claudia Gray is $2.99! This is book two of the Mr. Darcy & Miss Tilney Mysteries series. I remember Sarah mentioning and being excited for the first book. Not sure if these can be read as standalones, so please sound off in the comments.
Pride and Protest by Nikki Payne is $1.99! We featured this on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Payne has another contemporary, Jane Austen retelling out next month: Sex, Lies and Sensibility.
Welcome back to Hide Your Wallet, where we discuss this week’s new releases! It’s a light week with only three books to mention. However, it’s an assortment with chefs, historical romance, and fantasy. Next week is also shaping up to be pretty slim pickings for us, but that just means it’s the calm before the storm on 2024 releases. What books are you excited for this week? Let us know in the comments!
Strange Love by Ann Aguirre is a shining example of just how good a romance novel can be, even if the hero has mandibles, and I recommend everyone go read it now.
Welcome back, everyone! I feel like July’s releases were in like a lion and out like a lamb. There were a ton of anticipated releases for us toward the beginning of the month and now things have slowed down. Is that the case for all of you too? What books are wrapping up your July? Tell us in the comments!
You Were Made to Be Mine by Julie Anne Long is $1.99! This is book five in The Palace of Rogues series. Previous books in the series received some rather positive reviews on the site. Are you a fan of the series?
RECOMMENDED: The Last Wolf by Maria Vale is FREE! I really enjoyed this book and its departure from the usual shifter mythology. Vale does a great job creating a sense of place. Be warned though, there is violence in the book and it is very descriptive. The next two books are also discounted.
At a time when I didn’t have a lot of energy, I was gifted with pounds of joy, laughter, intrigue, and suspense. The Queer Principles of Kit Webb was a fresh approach to historical romance that made me fall in love with the genre again.
A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria is $1.99! This is Daria’s latest release and has a second chance romance. I know illustrated covers can be divisive, but wowee these are gorgeous. Did you pick this one up on release? Have you read her previous ones?
My Sweet Folly by Laura Kinsale is $2.99! This book sounds absolutely bananas. Readers really loved the heroine and how witty she was. However, given the bananas quality of the book, some said the pacing is a bit all over the place. Have you read this one?
While the Duke Was Sleeping by Sophie Jordan is $3.99! This is a historical romance retelling of the movie While You Were Sleeping. Some readers thought the story worked better as a contemporary romcom. Others loved the animosity and banter between the hero and heroine early on in the book.
