  • A Lot Like Adios

A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria

A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria is $1.99! This is Daria’s latest release and has a second chance romance. I know illustrated covers can be divisive, but wowee these are gorgeous. Did you pick this one up on release? Have you read her previous ones?

    Hi Mich. It’s Gabe.

After burning out in her corporate marketing career, Michelle Amato has built a thriving freelance business as a graphic designer. So what if her love life is nonexistent? She’s perfectly fine being the black sheep of her marriage-obsessed Puerto Rican-Italian family. Besides, the only guy who ever made her want happily-ever-after disappeared thirteen years ago.

    It’s been a long time.

Gabriel Aguilar left the Bronx at eighteen to escape his parents’ demanding expectations, but it also meant saying goodbye to Michelle, his best friend and longtime crush. Now, he’s the successful co-owner of LA’s hottest celebrity gym, with an investor who insists on opening a New York City location. It’s the last place Gabe wants to go, but when Michelle is unexpectedly brought on board to spearhead the new marketing campaign, everything Gabe’s been running from catches up with him.

    I’ve missed you.

Michelle is torn between holding Gabe at arm’s length or picking up right where they left off—in her bed. As they work on the campaign, old feelings resurface, and their reunion takes a sexy turn. Facing mounting pressure from their families—who think they’re dating—and growing uncertainty about their futures, can they resolve their past mistakes, or is it only a matter of time before Gabe says adiós again?

  • Red, White & Royal Blue

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston is $3.99! This is a limited time deal and I know many of you loved this one. Aarya gave this one a C- because she found the political world building too much of a distraction.

A big-hearted romantic comedy in which the First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales after an incident of international proportions forces them to pretend to be best friends…

First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations.

The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince. Alex is busy enough handling his mother’s bloodthirsty opponents and his own political ambitions without an uptight royal slowing him down. But beneath Henry’s Prince Charming veneer, there’s a soft-hearted eccentric with a dry sense of humor and more than one ghost haunting him.

As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. And Henry throws everything into question for Alex, an impulsive, charming guy who thought he knew everything: What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you?

  • Wilde Child

    Wilde Child by Eloisa James

Wilde Child by Eloisa James is $2.99! This was mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet and is book six in The Wildes of Lindow Castle series. I don’t see any other books announced for this one, so I’m unsure if this was the final book in the series or if there’s more coming.

loisa James returns to the Wildes of Lindow Castle series with the next Wilde child who runs and joins a theatre troupe—and the duke who tries to save her reputation.

He wants a prim and proper duchess, not the Wildest of the Wildes!

Already notorious for the golden hair that proves her mother’s infidelity, Lady Joan can’t seem to avoid scandals, but her latest escapade may finally ruin her: she’s determined to perform the title role of a prince—in breeches, naturally.

She has the perfect model for an aristocratic male in mind: Thaddeus Erskine Shaw, Viscount Greywick, a man who scorned the very idea of marrying her.

Not that Joan would want such a dubious honor, of course.

For years, Thaddeus has avoided the one Wilde who shakes his composure, but he’s horrified when he grasps the danger Joan’s putting herself in. Staring into her defiant eyes, he makes the grim vow that he’ll keep her safe.

He strikes a bargain: after one performance, the lady must return to her father’s castle and marry one of three gentlemen whom he deems acceptable.

    Not including him, of course.

  • Bridgerton Collection Volume 2

Bridgerton Collection Volume 2 by Julia Quinn

Bridgerton Collection Volume 2 by Julia Quinn is $6.99! The first collection has been on sale before and if you’re looking to slowly accrue these books on your e-reader, this is good deal. Do you have a favorite Bridgerton novel?

An enchanting collection containing books four, five, and six of #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn’s beloved Regency-set Bridgerton novels—Romancing Mister BridgertonTo Sir Phillip, with Love; and When He Was Wicked—now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix.

    Romancing Mister Bridgerton

Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend’s brother from afar for forever—until she stumbles across Colin Bridgerton’s deepest secret and fears she doesn’t know him at all. Meanwhile, Colin is tired of his reputation as an empty-headed charmer and of the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown. Upon his return to London, he discovers everything has changed—especially Penelope Featherington! The girl who was always simply there suddenly haunts his dreams. When he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide . . . is she his biggest threat or his promise of a happy ending?

    To Sir Phillip, With Love

Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he’d proposed, figuring she’d be timid and desperate to marry. Except . . . she wasn’t. And all he wanted to do was kiss her . . . As for Eloise, she couldn’t marry a man she had never met! Yet, she found herself in a carriage on her way to meet her perfect match. Except . . . he wasn’t. Despite being handsome, Phillip was a large, ill-mannered brute. But when he kissed her, the world simply fell away… could this imperfect man be perfect for her?

    When He Was Wicked

After a lifetime of smiling slyly as women chased him, Michael Stirling, London’s most infamous rake, took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell hopelessly in love. Unfortunately for Michael, Francesca’s surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer—they met at a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin. But that was then . . . Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but she still sees him as a dear friend. Michael dares not profess his love . . . until one dangerous night, passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets . . .

My favorite joint cream had a 20% off sale today. That is the sum of my black Friday shopping.

  3. spinster.revival says:

Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas is $2.99 on Kindle. It just came out this summer, so it’s a quick price reduction (just like the Alexis Daria above which also just came out—I just read books now from the library and eventually wait for these big price drops if I decide to buy it).

The Kleypas was great; it says it’s a Ravenel, but really I think it’s more Wallflower connected since Sebastian from Devil in Winter plays a big part, and the heroine is the daughter of the Westcliffs. I loved everything about it.

  4. Jill Quinn says:

I really liked Wilde Child, but it is very low conflict, for those of you that hate that sort of thing.

I *thought* there was going to be at least one more on the series. There’s definitely at least one tantalizing plot thread left hanging, but it looks like her next historical is the start of a brand new series, which makes me assume she’s done for now at least.

  5. Lostshadows says:

My only non-book BF shopping was at ShopRite. 24 eggs for $1.99 and 2 pints of blueberries for $2. (With coupon +$10 in purchases)

Bookwise, I picked up Velvet Was the Night, by Silvia Moreno-Garcia half-price from B&N.

  6. Musette says:

@spinster.revival – I just re-read the new Kleypas and still love it just as much as the first read!

Re BFriday – I almost went to Walmart to get my Covid booster… but the aghast look I got when I said it reminded me:

    Black Friday
    Walmart

Um. I think I can wait.

  7. FashionablyEvil says:

My two cents on the Bridgerton collection: Eloise deserved SO much better and the Francesca one has magical babies after infertility which I know is a hard pass for some readers.

  8. Emily says:

I loved Red, White, and Royal Blue – I liked the political stuff since it defined the characters’lives.

Confession I also bought 16 ebooks that were on sale (most on my wish list) for between .99 and $2.99 each. The Kiss of a Stranger by Sarah Eden is 1.99. I could not pass up the ebook deals today. I wanted to buy The Secret Lives of Meribelle West. It was a KDD today for $7.99. That is not a deal!, it ticks me off when Amazon prices things above $4 and calls it a deal.

  10. Kareni says:

I picked up a couple of Mariana Zapata books that were/are $1.99 — Hands Down and From Lukov with Love.
