Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo is $4.99! This is Bardugo’s first adult fantasy novel and I want to warn of some graphic depictions of violence and body horror. The first chapter or so should give you a good picture on whether it’s for you. Book two, Hell Bent, is also on sale!

I loved Do You Want to Start a Scandal. It’s funny, it’s sexy and it’s got some Clue-like shenanigans going on. If you have better self control than I do, I recommend savoring this book rather than powering through in one sitting (good luck).
The Business of Blood by Kerrigan Byrne is $1.99! This is book one in the Fiona Mahoney historical mystery series. It was recommended by Renee Ahdieh on the podcast and she mentions that it takes place during the time when Jake the Ripper was active.
Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber is $1.99! This book is something a bit of a rite of passage. Here’s what Sarah had to say:

I want to caution current readers that there are some potential minefields in its treatment of queerness in some characters, but it’s a ride.
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine is $1.99! This is the first book in the Great Library series, which Carrie has enjoyed. It’s about a great, magical library, which I know will perk up some readers’ ears. For those of you who don’t know, Rachel passed away over the weekend. Some sort of virtual memorial is slated to be announced.
RECOMMENDED: Monster She Wrote by Lisa Kröger and Melanie R. Anderson is $2.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal. Carrie loved this one and gave it an A:
I can’t emphasize enough how well this collection hits the sweet spot of fun (Quotes! Illustrations! Anecdotes! Humor!) and informative. I will be using this book as a resource frequently.

If you read and loved Code Name Verity this is a book for you. I said a couple of years ago that I expected a lot of World War I stories to come out of this centennial, and I’m pretty pleased to have been right. There are a lot of really interesting stories emerging. I’m also really interested (for various reasons) in how people deal with the PTSD that come out of traumatic periods in history, and this story is a deeply layered exploration of just that.
RECOMMENDED: Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts is $1.99! This is a standalone romantic suspense. I know Elyse frequently turns to Roberts’ books for comfort or to help get out of a slump. However, some found this book rather boring and wouldn’t recommend the audio version. Have you read this one?
