RECOMMENDED: The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal. so get it while you can. Ellen gave this one a B+:
I found The Intimacy Experiment to be a very strong entry in the annals of “sexy ice queen melts for beta hero and beta hero only” romance. The dialogue is excellent when it’s funny, when it’s serious, and when it’s tender.
RECOMMENDED: How Not to Fall by Emily Foster is $1.99! We had two reviews of this book, one from me and one from a guest reviewers. We both really enjoyed it. Foster had plans for more romance novels in a the podcast episode we did with her, but I have a feeling those plots are on hiatus.
I would recommend this book, honestly. The smart characters and Annie’s earnestness as a heroine are so refreshing, despite the emotional shift in the narrative. I’m glad I read it and I’m going to scramble for the continuation because I want to know what Emily Foster will do with these characters.
I highly recommend this book to people (all genders, everyone) who are maaaybe, possibly interested in exploring BDSM themes in contemporary romantic-comedy, but are a little intimidated by the genre, or unsure where to even find that unique genre mish-mash.
RECOMMENDED: Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente is $1.99 at Amazon! This might be a leftover Kindle Daily Deal. Carrie gave this one an A-:
I loved the book and would gleefully quote it all day. It made me feel happy and bubbly. It celebrated art of all kinds, even (possibly especially) shitty art. It made me feel hopeful and it made me laugh, and I love the message with which it begins and ends.
The Bawdy Bride by Amanda Scott is $1.99! This is a historical romance that was originally published in 1995 and seems to have Gothic elements. Some reviews mention there are some hefty old school vibes, while others said they were surprisingly bored.
RECOMMENDED: Last Night with the Earl by Kelly Bowen is $1.99! I so loved this book and gave it an A-. This is the second book in the Devils of Dover series, but can be read out of order (I did).
For readers who love slow burn historicals that have a focus on emotional healing, I can’t push this into your hands or onto your e-readers fast enough.
One Night with the Laird by Nicola Cornick is $1.99! The hero and heroine have had relations in the past and now the heroine needs the hero’s help, so there’s a second chance element. Readers say the sexytimes have a hint of BDSM to them (restraints), but that the villain was rather obvious.
RECOMMENDED: A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is bring price-matched. This book is often recommended in terms a sex-positive heroine. However, other readers found the heroine’s view of sex to be rather unromantic. Have you read this one?
RECOMMENDED: Slouch Witch by Helen Harper is 99c at Amazon! I bough this urban fantasy when we featured it on sale last year, and even convinced Sarah to buy it. We squeed over it in a previous podcast, but are really eh on the next book. The first has a non-cliffhanger ending, but it wasn’t satisfying in terms of the romance.
Three Weeks with a Princess by Vanessa Kelly is 99c! This historical romance is pretty dang cute and is a friends to lovers romances. I loved how the heroine came from a line of scandalous women. I will admit it was a bit slow to start though. However, it’s a pretty charming book. This is also part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which includes other historical romances. Be sure to take a look!
The Highland Commander by Amy Jarecki is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price matched. The book also came out this summer, so it’s a relatively new release. The hero is a virgin (CATNIP!), though several readers though there was too much of a focus on the hero’s virginity.
