  • Paladin’s Grace

    Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher

RECOMMENDED: Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher is still $2.99! AJ loved this one and gave it an A:

All of that is to say: if you stare at walls a lot right now and you can’t really read because everything is just too much all the time? You’re not alone. I get you. And if you want to try a book that gets it too, and will remind you that there can be light at the end of this god-awful tunnel, maybe try this one.

Stephen’s god died on the longest day of the year…

Three years later, Stephen is a broken paladin, living only for the chance to be useful before he dies. But all that changes when he encounters a fugitive named Grace in an alley and witnesses an assassination attempt gone wrong. Now the pair must navigate a web of treachery, beset on all sides by spies and poisoners, while a cryptic killer stalks one step behind…

From the Hugo and Nebula Award winning author of Swordheart and The Twisted Ones comes a saga of murder, magic, and love on the far side of despair.

  • Strange Love

    Strange Love by Ann Aguirre

RECOMMENDED: Strange Love by Ann Aguirre is $2.99! Elyse loved this one and gave it an A:

Strange Love by Ann Aguirre is a shining example of just how good a romance novel can be, even if the hero has mandibles, and I recommend everyone go read it now.

He’s awkward. He’s adorable. He’s alien as hell.

Zylar of Kith Balak is a four-time loser in the annual Choosing. If he fails to find a nest guardian this time, he’ll lose his chance to have a mate for all time. Desperation drives him to try a matching service but due to a freak solar flare and a severely malfunctioning ship AI, things go way off course. This ‘human being’ is not the Tiralan match he was looking for.

She’s frazzled. She’s fierce. She’s from St. Louis.

Beryl Bowman’s mother always said she’d never get married. She should have added a rider about the husband being human. Who would have ever thought that working at the Sunshine Angel daycare center would offer such interstellar prestige? She doesn’t know what the hell’s going on, but a new life awaits on Barath Colony, where she can have any alien bachelor she wants.

They agree to join the Choosing together, but love is about to get seriously strange.

  • Hidden

    Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti

Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti is $1.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! This is the first book in her Deep Ops romantic suspense series and I’m very curious about it. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads, which is impressive. However, if you’ve tried Zanetti’s books in the past and have mixed feelings, readers definitely suggest trying the sample first.

Hide. That’s all Pippa can do to escape the terror chasing her. But now that she’s off the grid in a safe house, she finds plenty of interesting things to watch through the window. Like her new neighbor, with his startling green eyes, killer smile, and sexy bad-boy tattoo . . .

Run. Malcolm West is fleeing the hell he unleashed in his last assignment as an undercover cop. A backwoods bungalow sounds like the perfect place to start over. Until he discovers he’s been set up . . .

Fight. Someone’s gone to a lot of trouble to bring them together. No matter how much he resents that, and his own driving needs, Malcolm will have to dig deep and let loose the banished killer inside himself, or Pippa’s fears could come true faster than the flip of a bolt in a lock . . .

  • Damsel in Distress

Damsel in Distress by Heather Graham

Damsel in Distress by Heather Graham is $1.99! This historical romance has a heroine who is a maiden by day, and a bandit by night. This is a reprint of the same book under Graham’s other pen name, Shannon Drake, just in case the book sounded familiar to anyone. Some readers though there was way too much going on, while others loved the sense of adventur

In Robin Hood’s forest, the bandit’s silver sword belongs to Lady Greensleeves

Countess Katherine de Montrain is not your typical lady. Hunting alongside her father since she was a child, she is quick with a bow and sword and knows the forest well—but hides this expertise from everyone around her.

Years later, Kat finds herself a prized maiden in the court of Richard the Lionheart. As she resists the unwelcome advances of the crusader Damian Mountjoy, she relishes her secret life as a bandit who fights in the company of Robin Hood. There she is known as Lady Greensleeves: a crack shot, keen tracker, and champion of the oppressed. But passion is about to grip her heart, and love is never simple in the forest, where deception is the only way to survive.

  1. Kareni says:

I certainly enjoyed the first two books above and recommend them.

I see that Nora Roberts’ Public Secrets is on sale for $1.99 in the US; it’s an old favorite.

  2. Kit says:

Paladin’s grace not reduced in the UK which is a shame as I read the sample today and like it.

  3. Empress of Blandings says:

There are a few authors that never seem to get reduced in the UK – T.Kingfisher and Lois McMaster Bujold are the two I notice most. Le sigh.

One nice thing is that Matilda Next Door by Kelly Hunter is free today on UK Kobo & Amazon sites.

  4. DiscoDollyDeb says:

I highly recommend MATILDA NEXT DOOR (recommended by @Empress of Blandings above). Kelly Hunter is a wonderful writer and her characters are always mature, thoughtful, and—most importantly—use their words! This doesn’t mean there won’t be angst and conflict, but it does mean things will be resolved in a careful, collaborative way.

  5. Escapeologist says:

ALL THE FEELS by Olivia Dade is 2.99 on kindle (US)

  6. Qualisign says:

All three of Ann Aguirre’s Galactic Love Series (STRANGE LOVE, LOVE CODE, and RENEGADE LOVE) are on sale for $2.99 each, $8.97 (duh) for the set. I read and loved the first two, so now I’m off to one-click the third. Great selection of books today.

  7. Jazzlet says:

Paladin’s Grace is reduced in the UK, just not by as much, so I’ve bought it. By coincidence I’m halfway through Strange Love and rather to my surprise enjoying it.

  8. Taylor says:

I read all the feels recently and snorted and laughed through large swaths of the book. It was good stuff.

  9. Ell T says:

I bought and read Paladin’s Grace when it was mentioned here at the beginning of March and I highly recommend it!

  10. Emma says:

Big ups for the Paladin series and the Strange Love series! (I opened the 3rd book in the latter series and read to my delight that the love interest in that book is based on Thane Krios <3)

Other ways to support Ursula Vernon, aka T. Kingfisher:

    1. She has a Patreon, where for $1/month, you can download all the T. Kingfisher books. (Amazingly generous, considering you could pledge that, download them all, and then cancel the next day.)

    2. She was one of the writers in the videogame Wildermyth, highly recommend the game even if I didn't know she was one of the writers.
