  • Make It Sweet

Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan

Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan is $1.99! Aarya mentioned this in February’s Hide Your Wallet and said she was tempted by the blurb. I haven’t kept up with Callihan’s more current romances. What do you think of them?

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Callihan comes a charming, emotional romance about redefining dreams and discovering unlikely love along the way.

Life for Emma isn’t good. The world knows her as Princess Anya on Dark Castle, but then her character gets the axe—literally. The cherry on top is finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman. She needs a break, and sanctuary comes in the form of Rosemont, a gorgeous estate in California promising rest and relaxation.

Then she meets the owner’s equally gorgeous grandson, ex–hockey player and current recluse Lucian Osmond, and she sees her own pain and yearning reflected in his eyes.

He’s charming when he wants to be but also secretive and gruff, with protective walls as thick as Emma’s own. Despite a growing attraction, they avoid each other.

But then there’s an impromptu nighttime skinny-dip, and Lucian’s luscious homemade tarts and cream cakes start arriving at Emma’s door, tempting her to taste life again…

In trying to stay apart, they only grow closer—and their broken pieces just might fit together and make them whole.

  • Damaged Goods

    Damaged Goods by Talia Hibbert

Damaged Goods by Talia Hibbert is FREE! This is technically a Ravenswood series novella (#1.5) and is just under 200 pages. It also features a second chance romance between teenage sweethearts. Warning here as there are descriptions of domestic violence.

Second chances shouldn’t be this sinful.

Laura Burne‘s husband is a monster, her diamond ring is a trap, and her pregnancy is the push she needs to finally escape. She runs away seeking safety… and finds Samir Bianchi, her long-lost teenage sweetheart.

With his kind eyes and dirty smile, Samir’s still hot as hell—and he still treats Laura like a goddess, baby bump and all. The wild boy she spent one magical summer with is every inch a man, and he’s more than ready to care for her tiny family.

But Laura’s been keeping a secret Samir might never forgive. When she finally confesses, will he remain by her side? Or is this fairytale ending too good to be true?

Please be aware: this book contains depictions of domestic violence that could trigger certain audiences.

  • Tell Me How You Really Feel

Tell Me How You Really Feel by Amirah Mae Safi

Tell Me How You Really Feel by Amirah Mae Safi is $2.99! This was featured before on Cover Awe because look at these two smiling goobers. This is a YA romance with some enemies to lovers vibes due to some past rejection.

Sana Khan is a cheerleader and a straight A student. She’s the classic (somewhat obnoxious) overachiever determined to win.

Rachel Recht is a wannabe director who’s obsesssed with movies and ready to make her own masterpiece. As she’s casting her senior film project, she knows she’s found the perfect lead – Sana.

There’s only one problem. Rachel hates Sana. Rachel was the first girl Sana ever asked out, but Rachel thought it was a cruel prank and has detested Sana ever since.

Told in alternative viewpoints and inspired by classic romantic comedies, this engaging and edgy YA novel follows two strong-willed young women falling for each other despite themselves.

  • Menagerie

    Menagerie by Rachel Vincent

Menagerie by Rachel Vincent is $2.99! This is an urban fantasy novel with a creepy circus that’s filled with mythical creatures. Some readers felt the ending was a bit rushed, but found the setting and the incredible amount of detail to be quite amazing. This is the first book in a trilogy, though I didn’t see any mention of a cliffhanger in the Goodreads reviews.

From New York Times bestselling author Rachel Vincent comes a richly imagined, provocative new series set in the dark mythology of the Menagerie…

When Delilah Marlow visits a famous traveling carnival, Metzger’s Menagerie, she is an ordinary woman in a not-quite-ordinary world. But under the macabre circus big-top, she discovers a fierce, sharp-clawed creature lurking just beneath her human veneer. Captured and put on exhibition, Delilah is stripped of her worldly possessions, including her own name, as she’s forced to “perform” in town after town.

But there is breathtaking beauty behind the seamy and grotesque reality of the carnival. Gallagher, her handler, is as kind as he is cryptic and strong. The other “attractions”—mermaids, minotaurs, griffins and kelpies—are strange, yes, but they share a bond forged by the brutal realities of captivity. And as Delilah struggles for her freedom, and for her fellow menagerie, she’ll discover a strength and a purpose she never knew existed.

Renowned author Rachel Vincent weaves an intoxicating blend of carnival magic and startling humanity in this intricately woven and powerful tale.

  1. Todd says:

The Talia Hibbert is in her Ravenswood series, which I enjoyed a lot. It fleshes out a character who’s not one of the protagonists (or antagonist) in the first book. I snapped it up when I saw it and liked it.

  2. LML says:

Very classy, Amanda, to list a free book by an author so many of us enjoy. Thank you.

  6. Lisa F says:

The Hibbert is excellent and, if you haven’t grabbed it for its reduced price, absolutely worth buying at any price.

  7. Star says:

The cover for Tell Me How You Really Feel makes me wish there were a gallery online somewhere filled with nothing but romance covers featuring people who look genuinely happy to be with each other. It’s so weird that these are less common than covers where one of them looks like they just heard a strange noise and the other one looks like they can’t remember where they put their watch. Or the kind where they both clearly wish they were anywhere else.

  8. MsCellanie says:

The Hibbert book describes the hero as “Amber skin, chaotic midnight hair, eyes dark and warm as hot chocolate.” So, who’s the guy on the cover?
