It’s Cover Awe time!
Sarah: Wow.
Maya: Yes PLEASE
Tara: That’s stunning!
Sneezy: You know that manga thing where someone has an overblown reaction to an attractive person characterized by physical pain and/or geyser nose bleed? That’s how I feel about this cover
The artist is Fatima Baig!!!!
Catherine: I love how vivid the colours are! And the little coloured in ‘e’s are a nice touch.
Carrie: I love her take no prisoners attitude.
Shana: This cover makes me stop and stare, every time I scroll past it.

AJ: Speaking of cover awe, I’m was working on my Slippery Creatures review and I’m so in love with the cover art
Tara: Oh that’s gorgeous.
Carrie: Love the Roaring 20s aesthetic!
Sarah: The entire series is distinctive and so elegant.

Elyse: I love the watercolor and the way she’s hiding her face behind her hair.
It’s such a bright, playful cover.
Amanda: Yes! It’s so cheery and sweet.
Sarah: I love when the art and styling of a cover communicates so much at a glance.
Shana: The watercolor effect is gorgeous!

Carrie: DAMN GIRL.
I AM TEMPTED.
Amanda: Oh, I like that. Also looks like Ana de Armas.
Catherine: The expression on her face!
Shana: I love her outfit, and I wish the font would get out of the way. Can’t you see I’m drooling over her here?
Mirrored sunglasses annoy the heck out of me in the real world but it turns out I really like them on the Ties that Tether cover. That lady looks fierce.
The Dating Makes Perfect cover seems like cuteness overload and makes me think of the Girl Meets World series. In a good way!
Just as a snarkworthy cover sometimes keeps readers away from a good book, an awesome cover can sometimes hide a terrible book. So it was reassuring to see the name K J Charles and know that at least one of today’s selections will definitely live up to its cover.
It’s nice to see some illustrated (if that’s the right term) covers that aren’t childish and cartoon-like. I’m really tired of covers that look like they’re intended for the 12 yo demographic. Glad I don’t buy physical books anymore.
And, now, get off my lawn!
@ Susan, for me it isn’t your apt 12 year old demographic idea as much as that cartoon type covers don’t seem (to me) to take their content seriously.
I almost like the series title of the last item more than I like any of the art. It’s an apt series title for so many series, and regardless of gender… so many HEAs boil down to the prologue of The Frog Prince (Continued)! (And not just in “genre romance” — litfic is, if anything, worse.)
It’s Monday. I’m grouchy.
@Jaws
I almost like the series title of the last item more than I like any of the art.
It put me in mind–whether accurately or otherwise–of Joanna Russ’s classic “The Mystery of the Young Gentleman”.
I sure hope that first book can live up to the cover because it’s blowing me away. The reflected images in the sunglasses, the way the images and her earrings pick up the colors from the floral background. And then I noticed her hair!
beautiful covers
The KJ Charles series was so great, and the emotional support knife made an appearance on all 3 covers! Love it more than I can say.
