You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!
This HaBO comes from Shawna, who is looking for this contemporary:
I bought this romance as a paperback from the grocery store (or something similar), so around the early 2000s.
The hero was a wrestler, WWE style, but aging out of the game and thus precipitating an identify/”what do I do with the rest of my life” -crisis.
The heroine thinks wrestling is the dumbest, fakest thing ever, but has to be involved for some reason. Perhaps journalist/family business/etc? He teaches her how much effort/athleticism/talent the job actually requires.
A scene I remember is forced proximity/shared bed situation when the paparazzi gets crazy and they have to share a hotel honeymoon suite: complete with crazy heart-shaped bed.
Cover-based hint: cartoon-ish, with lots of blue and white.
Very The Wrestler-esque – please help a bitch out, because I remember it being adorable!
Well this will appeal to a lot of readers!
I don’t think this is it (1993 pub date so unlikely to be out in 2000) but Beauty and The Beastmaster by Carol Devine was quite a fun wrestler romance.
I feel like Lori Foster had quite a few MMA based wrestler romances about that time frame, so it could be one of those. Maybe I should find a couple to reread as I do remember enjoying them at the time.
It sounds like it could have been a book in Pat White’s Ringside Romance series. Originally released by Dorchester/Love Spell in 2003 I believe. I read and enjoyed at least one of the books but can’t remember the storyline(s).
This sounds every different from what I usually read. I want to know what this is !
I agree with Kris Alice, sounds like Pat White, I still have mine somewhere!
Lori Foster has been writing a whole lotta MMA books forever it seems, maybe one of those? I read them all on ebook and have no idea what the covers look like.
Pat White’s First title of the Ringside Romance series, the Perfect Match, is free in Amazon.ca Kindle
As a huge wrestling fan I would DIE to read these! They sound amazing!
SOLVED! It’s totally Pat White’s Got a Hold on You – I had no idea it was a series, with more to read! It’s her’Uncle’s business’ – and she gets roped into being Tatiana the Tigress! Way to go, Bitchery!
I think a lot us have just realised how much we need wrestling romances!
Perfect Match is also free on kindle UK.
