Actually it was Sweet Agony by Charlotte Stein which I discovered thru this site! I didn’t know I needed a humorous Jane Eyre-esque BDSM novel but I really did. And now having found her, I’ve been devouring as many of her books as possible.

“March Sisters: On Life, Death, and Little Women” was a book that I’m so glad to have read this year. In it, four contemporary authors each write an essay on one of the March sisters and explore the different facets of their character. I was thrilled to read it last month, and I can see it being a great book for people taken with the new film adaptation of “Little Women.”

I’ve been reading romance since I was 15. And have been a connoisseur of romance now for 30 years. I would spend hours at the B.Dalton bookstore, my library, sitting in the aisle previewing Romantic Times and writing down their recommendations. I left for college, then law school, and my mom asked what do I do with all of your boxes of ¨books.¨ Well, I still have them. But now my hours are spent mining Smart Bitches. What a FANTASTIC find for me 4 years ago. Since finding my people I have discovered so many wonderful stories by new and old favourites. My favourite discovery this year was A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES, by Deborah Harkness. I read the first book in one day, binged the TV series in another and finished the series via audible. THANK YOU to all of the Smart Bitches out there and to the community of romance readers!!! Blessings in 2020!!!

A long year with many books – thanks for reminding of Sweet Agony by Charlotte Stein, which was awesome. RJ Blain was indeed hilarious. My favourite discoveries, through this very site as usual lately, were probably Laurie R. King (Russell&Holmes) and Vivianne Shaw (Greta Helsing).

The SBTB review of The Flatshare convinced me to try it, and I loved it.
I just finished The Hunter by Kerrigan Byrne and OMG was it good. I love an angsty hero who is common-born and curses like a sailor. I wish I could go back in time to read it for the first time again.

I think it would be Nalini Singh’s Rain Wolf. I’ve read and enjoyed her in the past and then drifted onto other things. I’m glad you guys called my attention back!

I discovered Helen Hoang here and I LOVED both The Bride Test and Kiss Quotient. I just finished reading The Blacksmith Queen and am excited for this new series. I probably would have found it eventually since I love G.A. Aiken, but I noticed it here, first.
I’m pretty sure I discovered the Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang here. It’s one of the few books I reread.
So many but the one that sticks out this year is Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik.

I get almost all my book recommendations from this site! I think my favourite discovery was probably The Right Swype by Alisha Rai. I usually stick to historical romance but I loved the depth of characters for such a what seemed like would be a light and fluffy read.

I loved “The Bride Test”. All sorts of great characters that I wish I could meet in real life.
This really was a good year (for reading at least), making this question hard! Mariana Zapata’s The Best Thing has stuck with me in a warm, satisfying, HEA kind of way.

This year was the Year of Queer Romances for me. I loved Cat Sebastian’s Regency Imposters series, especially A Delicate Deception. One of my friends recommended Harkworth Hall by LS Johnson, and it was exactly what I needed during a particularly hard month.
May 2020 have more of the same!
I get loads of recommendations from this site but this year I live had a bit of a reading slump and mostly read authors I already knew and trusted.
I did love the bride test and would never have picked that one up on my own (attempts at arranged marriage in contemporary would normally be avoided) but the review convinced me to try it and I am glad I did.
