SBTB 2026 Summer Romance Bingo

Our Summer Romance Bingo is back!

Beginning on the Summer Solstice, which falls on June 21st in the US and ending on September 21st, right before the Autumnal Equinox, we invite you to play our 2026 Summer Romance Bingo.

Please save the image to use on your own! You can also click on the image or here for a larger version to look at. If you’d like to share on social media, please use the hashtag #SBTBingo so we can see how your card is coming along! Participants who complete at least one bingo are eligible for prizes, including stickers, swag, and a big ol’ box o’ books for one lucky winner or two.

The middle space is a free space, meaning any book will qualify there. Also, please use one book per space. No double dipping!

A couple things – Con Tempo Rary is Contemporary Romance. I just couldn’t fit in the space.

Wrong Sibling: Character thinks they’re marrying, talking to, one sibling, but it’s actually the other. An example is a historical romance where the hero thinks he’s marrying one sister, but the twin shows up in her place.

If you need any more clarifications, just leave your questions in the comments. Most of these categories came from the community, so big thank you to everyone who made suggestions!

To submit your card, please fill out this form. Maximum of five entries per person!

Standard disclaimers apply: Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 and ready to read some excellent books. Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law.

The entry form will close September 22.

If you need clarification on any of the categories or want to crowdsource reading recommendations, feel free to ask or brainstorm in the comments section! Remember that bingo doesn’t kick off until June 21st, so don’t start reading qualifying books until then.

Lucy, here a couple of books that I think would work for sex worker.

    – The Roommate by Rosie Danan has a porn star hero.
    – Eyes on Me by Sara Cate has a cam girl heroine.
    – More Than a Mistress by Mary Balogh should also work if you prefer historicals.

And if those don’t appeal to you, the SBTB book finder archive has a sex worker option under archetypes.

Lucy, take a look at the StoryGraph challenge if you haven’t yet. You don’t need an account to see how others have tagged books for bingo.

    Do graphic novels count?
Thinking of Lore Olympus for my “Free Space”!

    @Elizabeth: Yes, they do.

I believe Falon Ballard has an historical fantasy about a magical courtesan called Something Wicked.

Courtney Milan has Unclaimed, an historical in the Turner series that features a courtesan, a chaste hero, and an attack on the MMC’s reputation.

The title character in The Nanny by Lana Ferguson is a grad student who was at one time a cam girl to support herself during undergrad. It’s a major plot point, and I confess I DNFed because the plot direction was telegraphed pretty early, and I didn’t want to go there.

Also, my emergency option is books 7 & 8 in the In Death series, featuring the ineffably elegant LC, Charles Monroe.

This may end up being duplicate info, but I don’t think the original posted.

Something Wicked by Falon Ballard: historical fantasy with a magical courtesan FMC; have not read yet
Unclaimed by Courtney Milan: historical about a courtesan coerced into seducing the chaste MMC in order to damage his repulation, iirc; it’s Milan, need I say more?
Your Scandalous Ways by Loretta Chase: historical in which a British undercover agent attempts to acquire some letters from a semi retired courtesan living in Venice; it’s Chase (see above)
The Nanny by Lana Ferguson: title character worked as a cam girl during undergrad leading to complications with her new boss; I DNFed this because the direction the plot seemed to be taking was making me anxious
Books 7 & 8 in JD Robb’s In Death series (Holiday & Conspiracy): I’m using these as emergency titles because I think both of them have quite a bit of that ineffably elegant LC, Charles Monroe
Lingus by Mariana Zapata: FMC meets an pornographic movie actor at a sex convention; not my favorite of hers, but not terrible, though it’s been a while.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to cover all the squares this summer. If I want to pick a couple of bingos to try for, say a diagonal and a row, do I need to read two distinct books for the overlapping square?

  8. @Amanda says:

@C: Just one book is needed to get a square. Like if you use the FREE SPACE, that one book is valid for all bingos that would pass through that square.
