Happy Hanukkah, 2019! Tonight is the final night of Hanukkah! Time to clean the wax off the menorot, finish off the latkes, and possibly make smores with all that heat from the candles. And, it means we have one last giveaway.
Ready? Let’s do this!
Today’s prize is: a Kate Spade Ellie Small tote in Anthracite.
I have to tell you, I liked this bag so much I bought one for myself, and I really, really love it. It’s shiny and silver, it’s very lightweight, it stands up on its own, and it has a nifty zipper pocket on the side of the larger zipper for my phone. I hope you like it just as much!
Of course I have pics!
Hot diggity, a top view. You can see the second zipper in this picture:
I love that feature.
Want some specs?
- The bag measures approximately 10″H x 11″ W x 4″D
- It has an adjustable crossbody strap drop length of 22″.
- The top zips closed – and has a second zip pocket you might have heard me mention.
- The interior has two slide pockets, and one zipper pocket.
Want to enter? Yay!
Just leave a comment telling us the book you discovered here this year that you’re most happy to have read!
Standard disclaimers apply: I am not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Must be over 18 and open to the consumption of still more latkes, and possibly also some bubbly because why not? Not responsible for how much you like the zipper on the top of the bag because I’m not kidding that it’s superbly nifty.
Comments will close Monday 30 December 2019 at or near 12pm ET, and winner will be announced shortly afterward.
Good luck, Happy Hanukkah, and thank you for being part of Smart Bitches!
Winner update: Congratulations to Amy! Another year of Hanukkah giveaways has come to an end! Thank you all so much!
Oh, this one is easy: Whispers of Shadow & Flame by L. Penelope. Thank you for that rec!! Ah-mazing!
Into the Gray (The Color of Love book 1) by F.E. Feeley Jr.
It’s a tie between Kate Clayborne’s LOVE LETTERING and Talia Hibbert’s THAT KIND OF GUY.
Know My Name by Chanel Miller
I’ve discovered most of my favorite books for the year from this website. Whenever I need to know what is coming out next or make a To Read list I come here. I think of I had to pick one, though, I’d pick The Flatshare. I just really loved the realistic characters and slow burn romance.
Cat Sebastian’s Duke in Disguise was quite tasty.
The Guy on the Right by Kate Stewart and Kiwi rules by Rosalind James.
Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik.
“Crier’s War” by Nina Varela.
The Girl with Ghost Eyes by M H Boroson
I discovered R.J. Blain’s The Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) Starter Pack this year, and it is everything. (I’ll probably still be giggling about it when you wrench it out of my cold, dead hands…)
I found Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik through this site and reignited my love for sci-fi romance.
Ill Will! So so good, though not a romance.
Eva Leigh’s Temptations of a Wallflower!
Rebel Hard by Nalini Singh
I had a fun flash fandom with Ashley Weaver’s Amory Ames mysteries spurred by July’s Whatcha Reading, but then I completely lost patience with Amory’s husband.
Definitely Polaris Rising. I am so greatful for that recommendation.
I’m just here trying to win a gift for my wife. Sorry!
Governess Game by Tessa Dare. But not just this book. I think I had read two romance books in high school. I stumbled onto the SBTB guide on Amazon, which lead me to this site, and I have a new reading obsession. Thank you for all your hard work. You’re all amazing!
The Flatshare and The Amory Ames series.
Gideon the Ninth, by Tamsyn Muir
I’ve never read Alisha Rai until I saw the review for Hate To Want You. It peaked my interest and it blew me away!
So many great books! I discovered SBTB right around last year’s holiday stress fest. Am a newbie to the romance genre, been reading mostly SFF and saw y’all mentioned in the comments on tor.com – they did a weekly series of Lois McMaster Bujold rereads.
I started off 2019 with my first of many Tessa Dare, The Governess Game, thanks to the excellent review here. Really enjoyed the book club pick Rebel Hard by Nalini Singh. Started looking forward to Whatcha Reading every month. Most of my favorite reads this year were thanks to SBTB. Burnout by the Nagoski sisters was a revelation. Jackie Lau and Alyssa Cole are autobuys. Thank you thank you thank you!
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang.
Ayesha at Last by Uzma Jalaluddin. Just so happy to read a different take on the Pride & Prejudice theme.
The Consortium Rebellion Series by Jessie Mihalik for sure (cannot wait for the final book!)
I have a lot by my long-time favorites, but my top picks by new-to-me authors are Consortium Rebellion Series by Jessie Mihalik (Polaris Rising and Aurora Blazing) and A Conspiracy of Whispers by Ada Harper.
Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. It was my first by her, and now I’m working on her backlist.
The first book that comes to mind from your blog is “5-Minute Marvel Stories.” My whole family and I love Marvel and this book really got my daughters excited for me to read to them every night. My daughters are ages 4 and 6 years old. Every night, we would read a story together before they went to bed. We’ve read the book quite a few times now. The illustrations are beautiful too.
It’s not a new book but my friend recommended I try A Discovery of Witches and I loved it so much!
The Paragon Hotel by Lynday Faye.
This year I read the entire psy/changling series by Nalini Singh, which I would never have known about without this site.
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. Great audiobook and I never would have found it on my own. thanks!
Ayesha at Last!
The books of Jackie Lau
I read a lot of great romances, but without a doubt the book I’m most grateful to have found from the site is Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski. I read Sarah’s review and wasted no time in running to the bookstore for a copy. It’s on my nightstand since with highlights and dog-eared pages.
That was the book I needed this year and I have you all to thank for it. Thanks for all the amazing reviews and content all year! Thank you also for keeeling this the safest place on the internet for support and healthy opinions. Happy 2020!!!
Oops- *Keeping this the safest place (really you do!)
For “discovered” rather than “kept reading favorite authors”, probably You, Me, U.S. (by Brigitte Bautista)
Alyssa Cole, especially the historical romances.
Hidden Kingdom, it was amazing and so funny and well out of my usual reading.
Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath
