  • Twice Bitten

    Twice Bitten by Lynsay Sands

Twice Bitten by Lynsay Sands is $1.99! This book came out earlier this year and is book twenty-seven in the Argeneau series. This book can be read as its own. Some readers say there’s more serious elements than they’re used to in this series. However, others say that Sands does a good job blending humor and romance.

Thrilling, witty, and oh-so-sexy, Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novel brings together a beautiful Immortal and the man who is her destiny…

For someone who’s been around for over a hundred and forty years, immortal Elspeth Argeneau hasn’t done a whole lot of living. Now that she’s moved away from her controlling mother, she’s tracking down rogue vampires and enjoying some overdue freedom. A fling would be fun. A life mate can wait. Yet to Elspeth’s surprise, her landlady’s hot grandson checks both boxes.

Wyatt fell instantly in love with Elspeth four years ago. He’s stunned to run into her again, especially as she has no memory of him. Then again, there are a lot of things about Elspeth that don’t make sense, like the miraculous speed with which her wounds heal. And the chemistry that transforms every touch into an explosion of desire. With mysterious “accidents” besieging Elspeth, the ex-Special Forces soldier appoints himself her bodyguard. But time is running out to uncover the truth about her enemies—and rediscover the man determined to love her for eternity.

  • A Nordic King

A Nordic King by Karina Halle

A Nordic King by Karina Halle is 99c at Amazon! This is the third book in the Nordic Royals series, but can be read as a standalone. This is dual first person POV, if that is or isn’t your thing. Halle’s writing is usually hit or miss for me. I either LOVE something or am bored by it.

A widowed father of two little girls. The beautiful nanny he’s hired to raise them. A forbidden romance unlike any other. A Nordic King is the newest standalone royal romance from the New York Times Bestselling author of The Pact and The Swedish Prince.

When I first applied for the job I thought it would be like all the others: working as a nanny for an aristocratic family.
Then I got the job and found out how wrong I was.

Now I’m the new nanny for two adorable little girls who happen to be princesses.

Their father is the widowed King of Denmark.
And my new home? The royal palace in Copenhagen.
Adjusting to my new life isn’t easy but the hardest part hasn’t been the girls who still grieve over the loss of their mother.

    It’s their father.

Cold, mysterious and moody, with an icy stare that seems to penetrate your soul, King Aksel may have hired me to take care of his daughters but he wants as little to do with me as possible.

Yet the longer I share these palace walls with this man, the more that I’m drawn to him. His chiseled face and sexual swagger are only part of the package. It’s in the long, intense glances at the dinner table, the way we’ll brush up against each other in the halls, the rare glimpses of the man deep inside, like the sun passing through clouds.

But no matter how I feel about him, we can never be together.

You think it’s bad enough being in love with your boss?

Try falling in love with a king.

  • Save Me from Dangerous Men

Save Me from Dangerous Men by S.A. Lelchuk

Save Me from Dangerous Men by S. A. Lelchuk is $2.99! I mentioned this on a previous Hide Your Wallet and I’m always here for women seeking revenge on awful men. However, I was tricked by the initials and the author is a man; that makes me wary. Have you read this one?

Nikki Griffin isn’t your typical private investigator. In her office above her bookstore’s shelves and stacks, where she luxuriates in books and the comfort they provide, she also tracks certain men. Dangerous men. Men who have hurt the women they claim to love. And Nikki likes to teach those men a lesson, to teach them what it feels like to be hurt and helpless, so she can be sure that their victims are safe from them forever.

When a regular PI job tailing Karen, a tech company’s disgruntled employee who might be selling secrets, turns ugly and Karen’s life is threatened, Nikki has to break cover and intervene. Karen tells Nikki that there are people after her. Dangerous men. She says she’ll tell Nikki what’s really going on. But then something goes wrong, and suddenly Nikki is no longer just solving a case—she’s trying hard to stay alive.

Part Lisbeth Salander, part Jack Reacher, part Jessica Jones, Nikki Griffin is a kickass character who readers will root for as she seeks to right the world’s wrongs. S.A. Lelchuk’s Save Me From Dangerous Men marks the beginning of a gripping new series and the launch of a fabulous new character.

  • Undiscovered

    Undiscovered by Anna Hackett

Undiscovered by Anna Hackett is 99c at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere! This is the first book in the Treasure Hunter Security romantic suspense series. I’ve enjoyed Hackett’s other books and am intrigued by the setup, but also…wouldn’t you just love switch it up with a stoic military heroine and an adorable and nerdy archaeologist hero?

One former Navy SEAL. One dedicated archeologist. One secret map to a fabulous lost oasis.

Finding undiscovered treasures is always daring, dangerous, and deadly. Perfect for the men of Treasure Hunter Security. Former Navy SEAL Declan Ward is haunted by the demons of his past and throws everything he has into his security business–Treasure Hunter Security. Dangerous archeological digs – no problem. Daring expeditions – sure thing. Museum security for invaluable exhibits – easy. But on a simple dig in the Egyptian desert, he collides with a stubborn, smart archeologist, Dr. Layne Rush, and together they get swept into a deadly treasure hunt for a mythical lost oasis. When an evil from his past reappears, Declan vows to do anything to protect Layne.

Dr. Layne Rush is dedicated to building a successful career–a promise to the parents she lost far too young. But when her dig is plagued by strange accidents, targeted by a lethal black market antiquities ring, and artifacts are stolen, she is forced to turn to Treasure Hunter Security, and to the tough, sexy, and too-used-to-giving-orders Declan. Soon her organized dig morphs into a wild treasure hunt across the desert dunes. Danger is hunting them every step of the way, and Layne and Declan must find a way to work together…to not only find the treasure but to survive.

  1. DiscoDollyDeb says:

I loved A NORDIC KING. There’s a vein of melancholy running through it as both h&h have devastating secrets in their pasts and are unsure if they can trust the other. The book has opposites-attract and antagonists-to-lovers tropes. Total catnip!

  2. Barbara says:

You wouldn’t know it from the cover but the 4th book in the Treasure Hunter series does feature a woman bodyguard and male scientist

  3. Amanda says:

@Barbara: Well, hello! Looks like I have a series marathon in my future.

  4. Antipodean Shenanigans says:

Re: The Nordic King – it was fine. I think the real story of Princess Mary meeting the crown prince of Denmark in an Aussie pub is better.
