Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

HaBO: Heroine’s Sister Jilts Royal Hero

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This HaBO comes from Elizabeth, who is looking for this historical romance from a library sale:

I have been wracking my brains trying to remember the name of this historical that I picked up at a library sale about a million (or more like 10) years ago.

Here’s what I remember about the plot: A young British girl is enamored with a distant cousin named Augustus, who is the prince of a German principality or something. Her grandmother, who is from the same country as the prince, arranges a potential match for Augustus and the girl’s older sister (I think her name is Lydia?). But on the day of the wedding, the sister elopes with the prince’s BFF. In order to save her family’s reputation, the girl marries the prince. Because she’s young and he thinks she’s doing everyone a huge-ass favor and has no idea she has a crush on him already, the prince promises her that he won’t consummate the marriage until she’s grown comfortable with him.

I know that she ends up becoming beloved in her husband’s country because of some social programs she spins up. And there’s a scene where some of the characters argue over the relative merits of German versus Italian opera. And for some reason, at some point the heroine and hero end up escaping to a snowy mountain on horseback and staying with some villagers for…reasons…? They do eventually get horizontal, so I think by the time they’re escaping to the snowy mountain, she’s preggers and that’s part of the reason they’re fleeing.

Hope the SMTB hive mind can help–it’s driving me BONKERS.

Let’s find this HaBO!
