  • Mercury Striking

    Mercury Striking by Rebecca Zanetti

Mercury Striking by Rebecca Zanetti is $1.99! This is a dystopian romance and the first in a new series. Readers loved the worldbuilding and thought the heroine had a nice blending of being confident yet vulnerable. However, some said they felt a little lost in all of the action. Be warned that there is some consent issues regarding spanking, as commented by Lia in a previous sale post.

With nothing but rumors to lead her, Lynn Harmony has trekked across a nightmare landscape to find one man—a mysterious, damaged legend who protects the weak and leads the strong. He’s more than muscle and firepower—and in post-plague L.A., he’s her only hope. As the one woman who could cure the disease, Lynn is the single most volatile—and vulnerable—creature in this new and ruthless world. But face to face with Jax Mercury…

Danger has never looked quite so delicious…

  • Three Weeks to Wed

Three Weeks to Wed by Ella Quinn

Three Weeks to Wed by Ella Quinn is $2.99! Redheadedgirl reviewed this book and wound up giving it a C-:

This is one of those frustrating books where there’s a good idea but it gets bogged down in a total and utter lack of tension or conflict.  As a result, it’s an eye-rolling read.

Have you read it? Do you feel differently?

In the first book of her dazzling new series, bestselling author Ella Quinn introduces the soon-to-be Earl and Countess of Worthington–lovers who have more in common than they yet know. The future promises to be far from boring…

Lady Grace Carpenter is ready to seize the day–or rather, the night–with the most compelling man she’s ever known. Marriage would mean losing guardianship of her beloved siblings, and surely no sane gentleman will take on seven children not his own. But if she can have one anonymous tryst with Mattheus, Earl of Worthington, Grace will be content to live out the rest of her life as a spinster.

Matt had almost given up hope of finding a wife who could engage his mind as well as his body. And now this sensual, intelligent woman is offering herself to him. What could be more perfect? Except that after one wanton night, the mysterious Grace refuses to have anything to do with him. Amid the distractions of the Season he must convince her, one delicious encounter at a time, that no obstacle–or family–is too much for a man who’s discovered his heart’s desire…

  • The Coincidence of Coconut Cake

The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy Reichert

The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert is $1.99! I’ll be honest; this book sounds delightful and delicious. I know I’ll be taking advantage of this sale. Readers loved the writing, but some found themselves wanting more in terms of the romantic aspects. It has a 3.6-star rating on Goodreads.

YOU’VE GOT MAIL meets HOW TO EAT A CUPCAKE in this delightful novel about a talented chef and the food critic who brings down her restaurant—whose chance meeting turns into a delectable romance of mistaken identities.

In downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lou works tirelessly to build her beloved yet struggling French restaurant, Luella’s, into a success. She cheerfully balances her demanding business and even more demanding fiancé…until the morning she discovers him in the buff—with an intern.

Witty yet gruff British transplant Al is keeping himself employed and entertained by writing scathing reviews of local restaurants in the Milwaukee newspaper under a pseudonym. When an anonymous tip sends him to Luella’s, little does he know he’s arrived on the worst day of the chef’s life. The review practically writes itself: underdone fish, scorched sauce, distracted service—he unleashes his worst.

The day that Al’s mean-spirited review of Luella’s runs, the two cross paths in a pub: Lou drowning her sorrows, and Al celebrating his latest publication. As they chat, Al playfully challenges Lou to show him the best of Milwaukee and she’s game—but only if they never discuss work, which Al readily agrees to. As they explore the city’s local delicacies and their mutual attraction, Lou’s restaurant faces closure, while Al’s column gains popularity. It’s only a matter of time before the two fall in love…but when the truth comes out, can Lou overlook the past to chase her future?

Set in the lovely, quirky heart of Wisconsin, THE COINCIDENCE OF COCONUT CAKE is a charming love story of misunderstandings, mistaken identity, and the power of food to bring two people together.

  • Lydia Dare Wolf Bundle

Lydia Dare Wolf Bundle by Lydia Dare

The Lydia Dare Wolf Bundle is 99c! This bundle collects three full-length paranormal historical romances with shifters. It’s also the first three books in the Westfield Wolves series. Some enjoyed the paranormal elements mixed with the historical setting. However, others felt the romances were just okay and not much of a standout.

In Lydia Dare’s debut trilogy, Regency England has gone to the wolves! Praised by readers and by reviewers as delivering “tension-packed romance… sizzling hot, sensual” (Star-Crossed Romance), Lydia Dare is one of the most-acclaimed new writers around.

Now find out why with the first three Lydia Dare books for one low price. This bundle includes A Certain Wolfish Charm, Tall, Dark, and Wolfish, and The Wolf Next Door, each a rousing, fun, thrilling read with heroes and heroines who will take your breath away.

    A Certain Wolfish Charm

The rules of Society can be beastly—especially when you’re a werewolf and it’s that irritating time of the month. Simon Westfield, the Duke of Blackmoor, is rich, powerful, and sinfully handsome, and has spent his entire life creating scandal and mayhem. It doesn’t help his wolfish temper at all that Miss Lily Rutledge seems not the least bit afraid of him, and in fact, may be as untamable as he is…

When Lily’s beloved nephew’s behavior becomes inexplicably wild, she turns to Simon, the boy’s cousin and guardian, for help. But Simon’s idea of assistance is far different than hers, and Lily finds herself ensconced in his house and engaged to the rogue.

They both may have bitten off more than they can chew when each begins to discover the other’s darkest secrets…

    Tall, Dark and Wolfish

Lord Benjamin Westfield is a powerful werewolf—until one full moon when he doesn’t change. His life now shattered, he rushes off to Scotland in search of the healer who can restore his inner beast, only to find she’s not at all what he expected…

Young, beautiful witch Elspeth Campbell will do anything to help anyone who calls upon her healing arts. Then Lord Benjamin shows up, and she suddenly discovers she may need him even more than he needs her…

    The Wolf Next Door

Ever since their failed elopement years ago, Prisca Hawthorne has taunted, insulted, and in every way tried to push him away. If only her heart didn’t break every time Lord William Westfield left her…

Lord William throws himself into drinking, gambling, and debauchery and pretends not to care about Prisca at all. But when he returns to find a rival werewolf vying for her hand, he’ll stop at nothing to claim the woman who should have been his all along.

Can Prisca forgive the unforgivable, or are the moon-crossed lovers going to be forced into a battle of wills that could be fatal?

  1. Liz says:

I love this blog. I love to sale roundup posts. But…. why do books that get a C- review get brought up (over and over) in these things?

I mean–there are soooo many great books out there. Why give prime real estate to one that was so clearly just meh?

    Still love ya’ll.

  2. @Amanda says:

@Liz: It really depends on the book, the review, and the author! I try to keep books featured at a C+ or above, but will make exceptions from time to time. Our reviews aren’t “definitive” in that readers might not always agree with our assessment. They may still want to read it for themselves. So it’s usually a judgement call on my part, but I always appreciate feedback on what sort of things or sales you all want featured more often!

  3. Liz says:

Thanks Amanda! Keep up the great bitchy work!

  4. L. says:

The original Ghost In The Shell manga is only 99 cents on Amazon.

  5. Marci says:

My Dear Hamilton: A Novel of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie is $2.99 for today only I believe. Laura Kamoie also writes as Laura Kaye and I’m a fan of her contemporary novels.

  6. ReneeG says:

Re Zanetti’s “Scorpius Syndrome” Series: I missed Lia’s (and others) commenting about these books before I bought them and slid down the very sticky non-consent rabbit hole before clawing my way to the surface and returning the books. It is a shame that the author keeps recycling the same problematic actions in her books (no really means yes – let’s bang, getting flung over a male shoulder in the middle of explaining your perfectly valid reasons is sexy, and being spanked by a bully during valid arguments is really sexy — all reminding me of the those rapey 1970s ‘mances I grew up on). Gaah! I eventually got the point and have stopped buying this author, but it took me awhile to get there since I kept hoping she would change with the times.

It was such a great world, except for the men in it.

  7. Hazel says:

Love the idea of a shifter who can’t shift; lots of meat there.

    🙂

  8. Elspeth says:

Yay! A witchy heroine named Elspeth. I don’t often see my name in writing. Buying the wolf bundle just for that.
