The Dream Hunter
The Dream Hunter by Laura Kinsale is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble! This is a standalone historical romance and many reviews say this book is completely bonkers. Some also note that the audio is particularly good. Have you read this one? Is it as crazysauce as everyone says?
To love him is to face her deepest fear . . .
In search of a legendary mare, Lord Winter enters the crucible of the red sands, forging unbreakable bonds of loyalty and trust with his young companion in the desert. But hidden beneath the ragged costume of a Bedouin boy is a remarkable young woman: Zenia Stanhope, daughter of the extraordinary Queen of the Desert.
Zenia wants nothing of the danger that Lord Winter lives for. She wants only to reach England, far from the blood and sand of the desert. But in one night of terror, condemned to death, their lives are irrevocably bound. Zenia escapes to an English world of elegance and comfort, leaving behind the lonely, fearless man who has changed her life and conquered her heart . . . until he returns to invade her sanctuary.
Now she must choose between safety and love, but can she find the courage to be the person she was truly born to be?

The Billionaire Bachelor
The Billionaire Bachelor by Jessica Lemmon is $1.99! For the most part, I enjoyed this one and it felt very much like a K-drama with its modern marriage of convenience. But the commitment to the conflict seemed to wane a little bit and had me wondering why the pair still weren’t kissing yet.
Manwhore. That’s what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn’t care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels. Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life’s legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that’s exactly what he’ll give them.
Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents’ funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-sexy-as-hell Reese Crane. It’s a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again. But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . . .

The Gilded Cuff
The Gilded Cuff by Lauren Smith is $1.99! This is a BDSM romance and the first in the Surrender series. Since the next book follows a different couple, I don’t believe there’s a cliffhanger in this one. Readers enjoyed Smith’s writing and the hero and heroine’s chemistry. However, some felt the timeline was a little off, as most of the action seems to happen within a few days.
Every passion has its price . . .
Journalist Sophie Ryder has been following Emery Lockwood’s story since she was a little girl. There has always been something in his haunted eyes that she couldn’t resist and now, when she’s certain he holds the key to solving a string of kidnappings, she’ll do anything to speak to him. Even if it means venturing deep into the seductive world of the Gilded Cuff, a luxurious BDSM club on Long Island’s Gold Coast and Emery’s personal playground.
From the moment Sophie enters his shadowy, sensual domain, Emery Lockwood knows this tantalizing new little sub was meant to belong to him. However, Sophie wants more from Emery than just pleasure . . . she wants his past. And that is something he isn’t willing to give—no matter who is asking. But every moment he spends with Sophie, Emery feels his control slipping and he knows it’s only a matter of time before he surrenders to her heart, body, and soul.

A Brazen Bargain
A Brazen Bargain by Laura Trentham is 99c! This is the second book in the Spies and Lovers series. Technically, this is a re-release, in case the description sounds familiar to anyone. Readers say there are some Gothic elements, if that’s your catnip, but that the historical accuracy is not the book’s strong suit.
Love soothes the deepest of scars.
Minerva Bellingham is at her wits’ end. Her younger brother, Simon, will have them penniless and on the streets if his extravagant gambling habit isn’t curtailed. An enormous debt to Lord Rafe Drummond is the final indignity. Signing over her dowry is their only choice. Until Lord Drummond suggests something much more scandalous. She can keep her dowry-in exchange for the Bellinghams working three months as a housemaid and stable boy.
Scarred from his service to the Crown, Rafe recognizes the young Simon Bellingham has the makings of a good duke. Minerva is a different story. Her pure, delicate beauty only underscores Rafe’s tarnished, bleak soul. Yet he delights in cracking Minerva’s icy reserve to reveal a fiery, stubborn woman. And Minerva discovers the gruff master of Wintermarsh has the heart of a poet. But before they can find a future safe in each other’s arms, a menace from Simon’s licentious past slithers back into their lives, forcing Rafe to plan the most important rescue mission of his life.
Warning: Contains a paragon of the beau monde who gets the hang of polishing silver, and a master of the house who’d like her to make his bed-preferably with him in it. Also passion unleashed with the mere touch of a finger. Readers are encouraged to swoon.

MORE OR LESS A MARCHIONESS by Anna Bradley is brand new and $2.99. The heroine already has the proposal but isn’t pleased with her betrothed’s apparent lack of fervor and so seeks the advice of a scandalous widow.
Oh, yeah, all of Kinsale’s stuff is some kind of nuts. There’s an inverse correlation tbh between how new her books are and how much crazysauce is contained therein, unfortunately. They’re all so technically wonderful though, so you’re ass-deep in your feelings before you realize that you’re reading about the princess of a small European country and an ex-navy captain (or something) getting stranded on a deserted island by pirates and adopting a penguin, for example. Good stuff!
Alyson McLayne’s Highland Promise (see Amanda’s B+ review here) is currently FREE at Amazon.
I’m going to spend the day debating buying the new Anna Bradley book Ren mentions above.
Crazysauce Kinsale?! Sign me up!
Loved The Dream Hunter. Totally over the top, packed with a million tropes, exotic settings, too many feels! It’s amaze-balls crazysauce.
The Clover Chapel by Devney Perry is currently free. I read the first of this series (copper farm house? Something like that), which was pretty good. Alpha heroes in the country and women who don’t let the men boss them around all the time.
@Deborah Free? Did you say free? I’m on it!
@Deborah, I started the Anna Bradley book around 1am, just finished it, loved it, and am debating if it’s too early to pre-order the next one.
I have this problem… where I always buy Kinsale on-sale digital books.. even though I already own all her books in paper (including my coveted Fabio covers). Does anyone else share this problem? I also have huuuuuuge blinders on when it comes to Kinsale – I will always buy any book she ever produces – if it says Laura Kinsale, I’m in, ALWAYS.
Not a fan of The Billionaire Bachelor – there was the evil ex-girlfriend trope (which don’t get me wrong I have read books where I either didn’t mind that trope or it actually worked), but in this case I just found it to be over the top silliness. Also the hero had his head waaay up his ass for most of the book and if I remember correctly I don’t think there was nearly enough grovel at the end.
I like every Kinsale I’ve read. The Dream Hunter definitely falls more on the ripping yarn/melodrama side of the spectrum than others – which makes it a treat to read!
Agree w @Katie C about the head-up-ass and lack of grovel in the Billionaire Bachelor. And I don’t really require a lot of grovel.
That said, I was curious enough about the sequel-bait brother to read his story before I quit the series. (And I don’t remember much about that one….so there’s that)
Maybe try your local library for a test read.
From Lukov With Love is the newest Mariana Zapata (released 2/1/18), and is free for KU, otherwise it’s $4.99.
I love the dress on the Kinsale cover. Both pretty and actually ON. I’m not a fan of the ‘dress falling off’ covers.
The ending of The Dream Hunter is one of my favorites. Crazysauce for sure but so so good.
All the Kindle audiobooks are AMAZING. Laura personally listened to dozens of audition tapes until she picked Nicholas Boulton to be the voice of her books and he does a fantastic job on every single one.
