Spoiler Alert is tropey wish fulfillment, but at its heart, it is a quiet contemporary with a #couplegoals relationship where both characters offer comfort, create beautiful art, and help each other overcome insecurities. Spoiler Alert is also a love letter to fandoms, that will make you want to chase your romance novel with a shot of fanfiction.
For You & No One Else by Roni Loren is $1.99! So far, I only see this deal reflected at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. This is the third book in the Say Everything series, which deals a lot with mental health. It can also be read as a standalone. I love Roni’s books and am awaiting news of what she’s up to for 2024. I know her Ones Who Got Away series is getting a re-release.
A Lady’s Guide to Mischief and Mayhem by Manda Collins is $2.99! This one is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals and has new Bridgerton inspired cover. Some readers loved the balance of romance and mystery, while others wanted more excitement from the plot.
Truthfully, if I had known what I was getting into, I doubt I would have read this book. And yet I’m so glad I did, because this, among other things, is a story about reading whatever the heck we want to read and the power of women when they decide to unite, both of which are themes that are Relevant to my Interests, Oh, Yeah.
Then, Now, Always by Mona Shroff is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance with a secret baby element. I think one our reviewers read this one at some point, because I remember them commenting on our Slack that there were way too many secrets being kept. Have you read this one?
The writing is polished, the grovel is so satisfying (I love desperate heroes at their wits’ end), and Thea has my permission to rule the world for eternity. Adams’s voice is magnetic; my eyes were glued on the page because the dialogue flowed seamlessly. Time stood still, and I was shocked to discover that four hours had whirled past after setting it down.
RECOMMENDED: The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman is 99c! This is a fantasy novel that Carrie really enjoyed. She graded it a B+:
While I genuinely loved the characters and concepts of the book, it’s played strictly for fun adventure. It’s basically just an excuse to have smart people fight cyborg alligators in a ballroom and werewolves in a museum. It’s smart, well-written fluff and I ate it up with a spoon.
