The Witness by Nora Roberts is $2.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals and one of Roberts’ romantic suspense titles. The cover of this one also boasts that it’s her 200th book, which holy hell. I thought Elyse reviewed this one previously, but my memory is failing me today.
This book is really two mysteries in one, and when they collide it’s a wonderful “ah-ha” moment. I wish I could say more than that, but I don’t want to ruin a single thing for another reader.
Someone to Care by Mary Balogh is $1.99! This is book four in the Westcott series and I thought there was a review for this one, but nope. Sometimes everything just blurs together. If you’re new to Balogh or count her as one of your faves, I highly recommend this guest post.
Slightly Married by Mary Balogh is $2.99! This is the first book in the Bedwyn Saga, which is a favorite amongst romance readers. Though Balogh’s newer historicals haven’t really worked for me, I’m curious about this one. Have you read it?
If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading August’s New Releases, Part Two→
Someone to Trust by Mary Balogh is $1.99! What perfect timing, as Sarah just interviewed Balogh on the podcast yesterday. This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which include a lot of romance. I know that for some Balogh is an autobuy author and this one is the fifth book in the Westcott series. Technically this is a holiday romance, if that is or isn’t your thing, but reviews say it isn’t too overtly Christmas-y.

RECOMMENDED: Uprooted by Naomi Novik is $2.99! A lot of people have recommended this book and Novik’s writing, but some readers did mention on Goodreads that the book is a bit slow at times. Do you love Novik’s writing? What did you think of this one?
Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill is $2.99! Urban fantasy with some hints of romance, Some Girls Bite is the first book in the Chicagoland Vampire series. The cover had a pretty big facelift, by the way, and I think it’s actually an improvement. Some found the books elements a little silly (i.e. continuous Buffy references), while others really enjoyed them. Have you read this one?
This guest post is from Emily Neuberger, who wanted to share some recommendations with you. Emily is a writer living in Brooklyn. Her debut novel A Tender Thing, was released this spring. … I don’t know about you, but I’ve been finding it difficult to read while in quarantine. It seems every time I open a book, the anxiety starts: How is my mom doing? Did I send that work email? What’s going on with … Continue reading Guest Post: Mary, Queen of Regency→
The Proposal by Mary Balogh is $2.99! This is the first book in her Survivor’s Club series, which is a favorite amongst the Bitchery. Readers loved the hero, Hugo, but I will admit I’ve never read a Balogh that I wasn’t “meh” about. Balogh fans, what do you love about her books?
