Someday My Duke Will Come by Christina Britton is $1.99 at select vendors! This the second book in the Isle of Synne series and we’ve featured the first book on sale previously and the third book is currently discounted. This historical romance features a fake engagement, which can be some major catnip.
RECOMMENDED: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley is $1.99! I loved this book and give it five stars on Goodreads. It’s easily one of my favorite historical romance and it recently showed up in the comments of our Rec League: Unassuming, Underestimated Heroes post. However, some readers didn’t feel any love necessarily between the hero and heroine. For those who have read this, what did you think?
RECOMMENDED: The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember is $2.99! This is a lesbian romance between a mermaid and a Viking shield maiden. Elyse read this one and gave it a B+:
It works really amazingly as a feminist retelling of a beloved fairytale, and it’s rich in detail about what mermaid life would be like, but purely as a romance, the heroines spend too much time apart to be satisfying.
The Girl with the Red Balloon by Katherine Locke is 99c! This is a pretty new release and I mentioned how excited I was about it in a previous Hide Your Wallet. Reviewers on Goodreads recommend this title for fans of magical realism, but some felt the heroine was a bit boring.

RECOMMENDED: The Rook by Daniel O’Malley $1.99 at select vendors! Carrie loves the series, especially the sequel Stiletto. It’s urban fantasy set in London with a badass cast of characters. But some found the book to have a lot of info-dumping. Have you read The Rook?
READER RECOMMENDED: The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata is a 99c Kindle Daily Deal at Amazon! At a previous RT, SnarkyWench and I gushed about sports contemporaries over some wine for a good twenty minutes, and she highly recommended this book. I immediately added it to my TBR pile because it features a football player and a marriage of convenience plot. The hero (who is Canadian) wants to marry to keep his US residency. Readers loved the slow burn between the hero and heroine, but found it a little too slow. Any Zapata fans in the Bitchery?
