We’ve heard about Oh Joy Sex Toy quite a few times from our readers, and now we have a great guest review from Reader Suzanne. Suzanne grew up on a farm in Vermont and has used books to explore the world since words started to make sense. Now, thanks to two children, she reads lots of picture books and middle grade fiction in addition to tons of fantasy and romance. When not reading or raising two young … Continue reading Guest Review: Oh Joy Sex Toy by Erika Moen & Matthew Nolan→
This HaBO comes from Kim. She’s looking for a romance she bought through Columbia House quite a while ago: She’s a virginal beauty with flowing raven black curls, violet eyes, and a tiny waist that accentuated the “flare of her hips.” She’s an apprentice to a very old famous painter, known for getting a little “inspiration” from his muses, if ya know what I mean. The lead is tall, has tawny hair, a broad chest, chiseled … Continue reading HaBO: Art Apprentice Realizes Her Mentor is Her Father→
RECOMMENDED: Opening Up by Lauren Dane is $2.99! This is the first book in the Ink & Chrome erotic contemporary series. Elyse gave the book an A-:
First of all, let’s take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the cover of Opening Up is. I’d hang that on my wall. I really would. But the contents of the book are just as lovely.
Still this book was incredibly sexy and often very funny. It made me duck out on the coworker I was traveling with: “I’d love to go to TGI Fridays with you, but PJ and Asa have a new leather cane they’ve been dying to try out and also I need to know how his weenus piercing feels without a condom, so I’m gonna just head up to my room, ‘kay, thanks.”
Are you ready, folks? It’s been a tough week already, and it’s only Monday, so you know what that means. No, not that. No, no, the other thing. Yes! It’s time for me to I settle down with a strong adult beverage and gird my loins in order to watch a dozen or so women compete for the love of The Bachelor. AKA Nick Viall. AKA this guy: Last week everyone went to New Orleans. I figured out … Continue reading Elyse Watches The Bachelor – Episode Six: Rebellion→
This HaBO is from Stephanie, who is hoping to find out what happened to a secondary character: I’m looking for the title of a book in a series that I started, but the first book is escaping me! The book is about a woman who returns to her hometown reluctantly. She meets a guy there and falls in love. It may have been after a death in the family. I believe the series took place in … Continue reading HaBO: Heroine Meets Mail Order Bride on Plane to Montana→
Oh how I enjoyed Seven Nights to Surrender by Jeanette Grey. It’s a lovely travel romance with incredibly hot, empowering sex scenes. It plays on some of the New Adult tropes I typically hate–Hero With Tragic Past Who Cannot Love, for example–but it does them well.
Sometimes I can only take so much crazysauce and wtfery before I have to tap out. I know, I know, you good folks rely on me to read this shit so you don’t have to, but even I have my limits. I DNF’d Hunt the Dawn, but I did get far enough to share some prime F+ moments with you. Hunt the Dawn is a romantic suspense novel featuring Lathaniel (yes, yes, that is his actual … Continue reading Hunt the Dawn by Abbie Roads→
This book was pitched to me as “Muslim Nancy Drew” and I couldn’t move my fingers fast enough to add it to the TBR-I (To Be Read IMMEDIATELY) list. While the mystery elements sometimes make abrupt turns and some of the secondary characters are a little awkwardly obvious, the core characters of Asiya Haque, her best friend, and her family are just delightful. Asiya Haque is a Muslim high school senior in Canada who is very … Continue reading God Smites and Other Muslim Girl Problems by Ishara Deen→
Hard Knocks by Ruby Lang is $1.99! This contemporary romance has a neurologist heroine and a hockey playing hero. Readers really loved the characterization of the hero and heroine, but some found the heroine a bit cold at times. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
