This HaBO comes from Bugg, who is looking for a paranormal romance I have been looking for this book for awhile and I can’t seem to find it any of my collections. I’m sorry I don’t remember much and what I do remember is so confusing! I read this book a few years ago. I remember the hero has a jealous ex who I am just going to call Jane (not her real name). Jane … Continue reading HaBO: Hero’s Ex Tries to Save Heroine→
RECOMMEND: Hurts to Love You by Alisha Rai is $1.99! This is the third book in the Forbidden Hearts series. It’ll probably behoove you to read the previous books, as this one does wrap up some things. Elyse wrote a Lightning Review for this one and gave it a B+.
This HaBO is from A.D., who is looking for their first romance. Content warning for the description below: I read this series ca. 1997. I was all of 13 years old; please don’t judge me or my parents for they did not know. Another girl passed it along in class and thus began my foray into romance novels. I had no idea of eras in historical romance at the time…all but it must have been … Continue reading HaBO: Evil Phillipe & a Theater Troupe→
Stripped is an uncomplicated romance between two goofy, sexy people. It has a sweetness to it that’s reminiscent of a contemporary friends to lovers trope. If that hits all of your buttons, do read this!
I have to admit, I liked most of this book, except for the hero’s backstory. I’m getting really tired of “hero cannot love because of abusive parent,” even when it’s reasonably well done. It just feels overdone to me. Nicholas Lyon was never meant to be a duke. He was the unfavorite second son, and after leaving his childhood home of Enderley, he made his own fortune by opening a gambling den and collecting the … Continue reading A Duke Changes Everything by Christy Carlyle→
Thanksgiving is over and the march toward the end of 2018 is upon us. I think now is a good time as any for some Cover Snark. From Sarena: Fated mates? I don’t think so, she looks like she’s working out where best to bite him and he’s either plotting his escape or staring into space. Sarah: He’s definitely bored. And she looks like she’s found some weird leftover food on his face and is … Continue reading Cover Snark: The Stuff of Nightmares→

ROGER AND BRIANNA Inverness, 1970. Roger is in his empty house, noodling around on his guitar when Fiona and her dude are there to take possession of the house. Roger gives them a traditional gift of salt, I guess (for flavor in your life) and champagne. He and Fiona’s dude make toasts, and Roger hands Fiona the keys, with a sense of due ceremony. It’s his childhood home, after all. Roger is headed to America … Continue reading Outlander 4.03 “The False Bride”→
Butterface by Avery Flynn is 99c! I believe this is part of today’s deals. This contemporary romance is billed as a romantic comedy with some fake relationship elements. Be warned that the heroine is incredibly self-conscious about her looks, and there seems to be a lot of internal critical comments, if you’re sensitive to those things.
