This HaBO comes from Sally, who is looking for this romance:
I’m looking for a Mills and Boon modern book (blue cover, UK), I think it is from the 1990s or 2000s. Both hero and heroine are Spanish, both from rich families, set in Spain. The heroine for some reason is considered promiscuous by her family and they seem to not like her. They arrange a marriage with the hero for her (maybe it’s some financial/business thing and also he is “helping” them out by taking her off their hands). Because of what her family says hero also assumes she is promiscuous and he treats her with contempt. After the marriage he discovers she is a virgin (but, of course!).
One detail I remember is that she hand sews a shirt for him as per Spanish wedding custom we are told, leading up to the wedding. (Basically this and the heroine’s family and the hero thinking she is promiscuous, heroine being a virgin are the only parts I am 100% sure about).
She may also have a name which is Estrella, the Spanish word for star but that detail I’m unsure about and may have recalled that from another book.
Unfortunately I can’t recall anything else, not author name or anything. I’ve already done the usual searches and not managed to locate the book.
Let’s HaBO!
I found Kate Walker’s The Spaniard’s Inconvenient Wife: A Steamy Marriage of Convenience Contemporary Romance (The Alcolar Family Book 2), which has a heroine named Estrella and an arranged marriage, but based on the reader comments, she’s not a virgin. Perhaps this is the source of the maybe remembered name?
