This HaBO is from Crystal, who wants to find this American historical romance:
I’m hoping you can help me track down the title of a book I read years ago!
Historical romance paperback, likely published before the mid-2000s.
Young woman in her late teens or early twenties travels west with her paleontologist father during the late-1800s dinosaur-bone expeditions in the Badlands (possibly South Dakota). Fossil hunting is a major part of the plot.
She falls in love with a Lakota/Sioux Native American man living with his tribe and spends part of the story living among the tribe herself. Her father initially opposes the relationship but eventually accepts it.
Traditional illustrated romance cover with a bare-chested Native American hero. Roughly 300–400 pages and fairly steamy.
Can we find this one?
I think this is a Cassie Edwards romance that I shelved and reshelved many a time during my library page days (2001-2007). The bare-chested Native hero and FMC being an archaeologist’s daughter rings a bell. Amazon suggests Savage Love?
“Stranded in the West by her father’s untimely death, Dayanara vows to complete his archaeological mission and uncover the monster bones of Indian legend…”
