It was a romance that took place over centuries as at least one of the main characters was a time traveler.
One of the last scenes took place on an island like Malaysia where the two lovers were swept away in the tsunami (which was supposed to be the actual tsunami of 2004, but the book was obviously fiction).
Please help! It was an incredible book that took place in numerous ancient ruins sites (I think).
