  • Broken

    Broken by Jenny Lawson

Broken by Jenny Lawson is $2.99! A couple of use here at SBTB have really loved Lawsons’ previous two memoir collections and this is her third, which came out this April. Humor can certainly be subjective. If you’re tempted by this one, but are unsure if her voice will work for you, she has a long-running blog: The Bloggess

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Furiously Happy and Let’s Pretend This Never Happened comes a deeply relatable book filled with humor and honesty about depression and anxiety.

As Jenny Lawson’s hundreds of thousands of fans know, she suffers from depression. In Broken, Jenny brings readers along on her mental and physical health journey, offering heartbreaking and hilarious anecdotes along the way.

With people experiencing anxiety and depression now more than ever, Jenny humanizes what we all face in an all-too-real way, reassuring us that we’re not alone and making us laugh while doing it. From the business ideas that she wants to pitch to Shark Tank to the reason why Jenny can never go back to the post office, Broken leaves nothing to the imagination in the most satisfying way. And of course, Jenny’s long-suffering husband Victor―the Ricky to Jenny’s Lucille Ball―is present throughout.

A treat for Jenny Lawson’s already existing fans, and destined to convert new ones, Broken is a beacon of hope and a wellspring of laughter when we all need it most.

  • Twisted Truths

    Twisted Truths by Rebecca Zanetti

Twisted Truths by Rebecca Zanetti is $2.99! This is book three in the Blood Brothers romantic suspense series. I believe we’ve featured the previous two on sale if you’re looking to collect them all. This one has a second chance romance!

    You can’t escape the past . . .

Noni is desperate. Her infant niece has been kidnapped, and the only person who can save her is a private detective with too many secrets to count–and more enemies than he can name. A man who walked away from Noni without any warning a year ago, a man who broke her heart. But with Talia’s life on the line, Noni needs his help now more than ever–and this time, she won’t take no for an answer . . .

The moment Denver Jones sees Noni, the memories come rushing back. The fire in her eyes. The determination in her voice. The danger of having her in his life. Denver had to push her away once, but now with vicious criminals threatening Noni and her niece, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect them. But enemies from his past are circling, and they’ll use anything–and anyone–to get to Denver.

With twists and turns that will blow you away, TWISTED TRUTHS is sexy, action-packed suspense at its very best from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti.

  • All Souls Trilogy

All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness

The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness is $1.99! Thanks to everyone who let us know about this one. This set contains a complete, finished trilogy. This trilogy seems to be rather divisive as I’ve seen comments on the site where people have love it or couldn’t make it through the first book.

The All Souls Trilogy follows the story of Diana Bishop, a historian and reluctant witch, as she solves the mystery of Ashmole 782, falls in love with a mysterious vampire named Matthew Clairmont, and learns how powerful it can be to accept who you are.

A Discovery of WitchesShadow of Night, and The Book of Life, now available in an eBook bundle

With more than a million copies sold in the United States, A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night have landed on all of the major bestseller lists, garnered rave reviews, and spellbound legions of loyal fans.

  • There’s Only One Bed at Christmas

There’s Only One Bed at Christmas by Jackie Lau

There’s Only One Bed at Christmas by Jackie Lau is 99c! Thanks, once again, to everyone who alerted us to this deal! This is a trio of holiday novellas. Lau’s books often come up for low-angst titles that have lots of cozy descriptions and yummy food.

Three Christmas novellas to heat up the holidays!

    Her Pretend Christmas Date
Julie Tam is home for Christmas with her starchy fake boyfriend. Though Tom Yeung might be irritating, he’s the perfect guy to impress her parents. But as they spend more time together—skating, building gingerbread houses, and sharing a bed—Julie starts wishing the holiday weekend would never end…

    One Bed for Christmas
Wes Cheng has had a crush on his friend Caitlin Ng for over a decade, but he knows he’s not her type. She’s a CEO, and he dances in an inflatable T-Rex costume. However, when a snowstorm knocks out her power, she ends up staying at his small apartment for Christmas. Being so close to her is dangerous for his heart…or could it lead to the romance he desires?

A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas
Greg Wong doesn’t appreciate being forced to drive Tasha Edwards, the first woman he ever loved, back to their hometown for the holidays. And he really doesn’t appreciate it when a snowstorm forces them to spend a night in an unheated motel room with only one bed. But nothing’s going to happen…right?

There are a couple of Michelle Diener books free on Amazon today.

  2. Escapeologist says:

I loved Jackie Lau’s One Bed for Christmas and have been recommending it for readers who don’t want that perfect small town plaid Christmassy vibe. It’s set in the city and everyone’s family are elsewhere.

All Souls Trilogy- I’m one who could not make it through the first book. It started off intriguing, there’s a library and magic so it should work for me but then it got so slowww and I lost interest.

  3. DonnaMarie says:

A DICOVERY OF WITCHES is a SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON sort of book. If you’ve never read it, you have to slog through the most boring shipwreck in history, but if you can get through that whole emptying the ship tedium, suddenly there’s a tiger, and pirates, and a cabin boy who isn’t a boy! This is the reason I rarely DNF a book; there could be a tiger on the next page. The All Souls trilogy, while lacking in tigers, was certainly worth the work to get to the good stuff.

  4. Susan says:

@DonnaMarie: I totally misread your comment and thought the shipwreck, cabin boy, and tiger were in A Discovery of Witches. I liked ADOW back when I read it, but I don’t remember a lot of detail so I was thinking, “Wow, a tiger? I’m more senile than I realized because I don’t remember ANY of that in ADOW!?!” LOL.

Of course, I also read SFR in my younger days and don’t remember the tiger in that, either. At least that was many more decades ago. But I need more tigers in my life now. Maybe I ought to squeeze both books in for a reread.

  5. Katie says:

The podcast Worst Bestsellers has a very fun episode about A Discovery of Witches (episode 122) if you want to get a sense of the book but not read all those many pages.

  6. Lk says:

Was the tiger in the book, or just the movie?

  7. squee_me says:

I just picked up books 1-3 of Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series for $2.99!

  8. DonnaMarie says:

@Lk after more than 50 years, I won’t swear to it, however, the movie was made back when no one felt the need to change the story to make it “better”.
