Help A Bitch Out

HaBO: Heroine Uses Fake Identity to Work for Uncle

This HaBO comes from Cory, who wants to find this romantic suspense:

I don’t remember too much. I started this and lost the book before I could finish it.

I know the heroine is trying to I think solve the murder of one of her parents . She works for her criminal uncle’s million dollar business under an assumed identity.

While she is doing that, the hero is doing surveillance on her and that same company to get revenge for his partner’s murder.

Let’s solve this one!

Could this be High Stakes by Rebecca Brandywine? The MC doesn’t work for her grandfather but is under an assumed identity to take him down. Might not be the same novel, but definitely the same vibe.

  2. CHERYL MCINNIS says:

My guess is Behind Closed Doors by Shannon McKenna. Heroine believes her father was killed by her uncle when she was a child. She changes her name and goes to his island estate to work for him. Hero is a security expert and believes the uncle had his half brother/partner killed. He has the estate under surveillance and spends a lot of time watching the heroine. It’s a pretty hot, over-the-top romantic suspense. Definitely from the alpha male, damsel in distress era of the mid 90’s, early 2000’s. I did love it though, haha

I agree that it’s Behind Closed Doors by Shannon McKenna. I reread that book pretty often back in the day.

    This was it! Thanks!
