  • Anchored Hearts

    Anchored Hearts by Priscilla Oliveras

Anchored Hearts by Priscilla Oliveras is $1.99! This is book two in the Keys to Love series and has a second chance romance. This isn’t my favorite trope, but I enjoyed this book. If you like really emotional contemporaries, this will tick that box.

Key West is the ideal backdrop for the summer read you need! Perfect for fans of Abby Jimenez, Jasmine Guillory, and Jen DeLuca, this gorgeous and stirring new love story from the author of Island Affair will touch your heart…

Award-winning photographer Alejandro Miranda hasn’t been home to Key West in years–not since he left to explore broader horizons with his papi’s warning echoing in his ears. He wouldn’t be heading there now if it wasn’t for an injury requiring months of recuperation. The drama of a prodigal son returning to his familia is bad enough, but coming home to the island paradise also means coming face to face with the girl he left behind–the one who was supposed to be by his side all along…

Anamaría Navarro was shattered when Alejandro took off without her. Traveling the world was their plan, not just his. But after her father’s heart attack, there was no way she could leave–not even for the man she loved. Now ensconced in the family trade as a firefighter and paramedic, with a side hustle as a personal trainer, Anamaría is dismayed that just the sight of Alejandro is enough to rekindle the flame she’s worked years to put out. And as motherly meddling pushes them together, the heat of their attraction only climbs higher. Can they learn to trust again, before the Key West sun sets on their chance at happiness?

  • The Summer Deal

The Summer Deal by Jill Shalvis

The Summer Deal by Jill Shalvis is $2.99! This is part of the Wildstone series, though I think it can be read on its own just fine. I know a couple of the Bitchery staff turn to Shalvis for major comfort reading. Are you a fan?

From New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis comes a friends-to-frenemies-to-sisters story… And then add in a love story (okay, two love stories). Shake. Stir. Read on a lazy summer day at the beach.

Brynn Turner desperately wishes she had it together, but her personal life is like a ping-pong match that’s left her scared and hurt after so many attempts to get it right. In search of a place to lick her wounds and get a fresh start, she heads back home to Wildstone.

And then there’s Kinsey Davis, who after battling serious health issues her entire twenty-nine years of life, is tired of hoping for . . . well, anything. She’s fierce, tough, and pretty much the opposite of Brynn except for one thing: they’re half-sisters. Kinsey is keeping this bombshell, and a few others as well. Long time frenemies from summer camp, there’s no way she’s going to tell Brynn they’re related.

But then Brynn runs into Kinsey’s lifelong best friend, Eli, renewing a childhood crush. He’s still easy-going and funny and sexy as hell. When he gets her to agree to a summer-time deal to trust him to do right by her, no matter what, she never dreams it’ll result in finding a piece of herself she didn’t even know was missing. She could have a sister, love, and a future—if she can only learn to let go of the past.

As the long days of summer wind down, the three of them must discover if forgiveness is enough to grasp the unconditional love that’s right in front of them.

  • Hidden

    Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti

Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti is $1.99! This is the first book in her Deep Ops romantic suspense series and I’m very curious about it. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads, which is impressive. However, if you’ve tried Zanetti’s books in the past and have mixed feelings, readers definitely suggest trying the sample first.

Hide. That’s all Pippa can do to escape the terror chasing her. But now that she’s off the grid in a safe house, she finds plenty of interesting things to watch through the window. Like her new neighbor, with his startling green eyes, killer smile, and sexy bad-boy tattoo . . .

Run. Malcolm West is fleeing the hell he unleashed in his last assignment as an undercover cop. A backwoods bungalow sounds like the perfect place to start over. Until he discovers he’s been set up . . .

Fight. Someone’s gone to a lot of trouble to bring them together. No matter how much he resents that, and his own driving needs, Malcolm will have to dig deep and let loose the banished killer inside himself, or Pippa’s fears could come true faster than the flip of a bolt in a lock . . .

  • London’s Wicked Affair

London’s Wicked Affair by Anabelle Bryant

London’s Wicked Affair by Anabelle Bryant is 99c! This is the first book in the Midnight Secrets series. The other books are also on sale and feature way different cover designs. This one features an off-limits romance and yes, a duke. Readers seem torn on the heroine. Some love her forward-thinking nature, while others wished she were a bit more responsible.

In Anabelle Bryant’s wickedly romantic new series, secrets and seduction go hand in hand . . .

Lunden Beckford, Duke of Scarsdale, has chosen to exile himself far from London, with its painful memories and cruel gossip. Forced back to town on business, he’s eager to make his stay as brief as possible. But first, he must honor his promise to find a suitable husband for his friend’s little sister. On one hand, Amelia Strathmore has grown into a stunning, statuesque beauty. On the other, the willful chit is more likely to scandalize a drawing room with her outspoken opinions than blush prettily. At least she agrees to accept his help—if he fulfills
    certain conditions . . .

Though duty-bound to marry, Amelia longs to secretly enjoy some of life’s freedoms first. In this, as in many things, Lunden proves an excellent guide. In fact, Amelia’s girlhood admiration for her brother’s friend is fast becoming something far less innocent. Lunden believes he’s known too much darkness to offer any woman happiness. Yet Amelia is starting to see how much pleasure can lie within the right partnership—especially if one is willing to be a little wicked . . .

“Get A LIfe, Chloe Brown”, by Talia Hibbert, is $1.99 on US Amazon. (Amazon marked this as a “Limited Time Deal”, so it may be today only?)

  2. spinster.revival says:

Book of Love by Erin Satie is 99 cents on Amazon. It was recced here a few months ago, and it’s now one of my favorite historical romances.

  3. Carrie G says:

I read The Summer Deal and wasn’t wowed by it. Jill Shalvis used to be a go-to author for me, but not so much anymore. This is more of a women’s fiction mixed with some romance. The characters knew each other as kids at summer camp and then reconnect, with the two females, Brynn and Kinsey, being more enemies than friends. I thought they all acted like they were still teens instead of 30-something’s. Deck, Kinsey’s sort-of boyfriend, was my favorite character.

  4. squee_me says:

A Duke in Disguise by Cat Sebastian is 99¢! One of my favs! Also, though not as low as a typical sale in these posts, but still marked down from the normal price, Glitterland by Alexis Hall is $4.99.

  5. Cindy says:

I saw Olivia Dade’s Spoiler Alert on sale today for 1.99 on Google Play and Amazon.

  6. Lisa F says:

Of these, I liked the Bryant. Anchored Hearts was still quite good, but not my fave Oliveras.

  7. spinster.revival says:

Oooh I also just saw that Day of the Duchess by Sarah MacLean is $1.99 on Amazon. It’s the third book in a connected trilogy, although I think it can be read as a standalone. I wonder if it’s on sale because the two main characters in MacLean’s new series coming out in August (Bombshell—I seriously can’t wait considering I don’t ever get ARCs) feature in it. FYI it’s pretty angsty but still an amazing read as all her books are.

  8. FashionablyEvil says:

The Summer Deal was a DNF for me—there was some funny dialogue but the characters and conflict weren’t compelling enough to sustain my interest. (Also, it felt like a weird version of a Lurlene McDaniel novel? Anyone remember those from middle school?)

  9. chacha1 says:

@Jenny, thanks for the tip re: the Hibbert!
