Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

HaBO: Her Name is Miracle

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This HaBO is from Rachel, who is looking for a historical romance:

I need help finding a book! I read it in the early 2000s, but it was probably published in the 1990s as it was a freebie I got from the local library.

It is a historical romance that takes place mostly on an island off the coast of England.

The heroine (her name is Miracle) keeps watch at a lighthouse on the island waiting for her mom to come back (though in the classic romance tragedy it is clear she will never actually do so). The hero is some lordship type from London who is there on the island trying to trick the gal in to marrying his twin brother. There’s definitely a part where the heroine has stolen some fancy horses from a ship that crashed off the shore of the island.

Who knows this one?

Is it Miracle by Katherine Sutcliffe?

The only other book I can think of with a heroine named Miracle, is Games of Pleasure by Julia Ross. It does start by the sea, but the plot doesn’t seem to fit.

It sounds like Miracle by Katherine Sutcliffe. It’s been years (decades?) since I read it. But it was set on an island and involves twin brothers with a heroine named Miracle.

Yes!! It is Miracle by Katherine Sutcliffe. Thank you!
