  • Taming the Legend

Taming the Legend by Kat Latham

Taming the Legend by Kat Latham is 99c! This is the fourth book in the London Legends series, which features rugby playing heroes. A few more of them are on sale. This one has a second chance romance, and the third book is also on sale. I enjoyed this series, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read it.

When retiring rugby star Ash Trenton considered his next career move, coaching troubled teens at his ex-girlfriend’s California camp wasn’t on the list. But when Camila Morales reappears after eighteen years, begging for his help, he can’t say no to his first and only love.

Camila was just sixteen when Ash moved on to start his rugby career, leaving her heartbroken…and on her own to make a life-changing decision. Now she needs his help to win a tournament prize and save her camp. Relying on Ash is the last thing she wants. But while it’s hard to get over being dumped for a sport, it’s even harder to ignore the rush of attraction that has only gotten stronger after so many years apart.

Coaching teens is the hardest job Ash has ever had, and the task becomes personal when he begins to fall for Camila all over again. But when he is offered his dream job, will he choose the job–or the woman whose heart he already sacrificed once?

  • That Scandalous Summer

That Scandalous Summer by Meredith Duran

That Scandalous Summer by Meredith Duran is $1.99! This is the first book in the Rules for the Reckless series and has a marriage of convenience element. Readers had a hard time liking the heroine, but others say this is a series that just keeps getting better and better.

    One Daring Widow

In the social whirl of Regency England, Elizabeth Chudderley is at the top of every guest list, the life of every party, and the belle of every ball. But her friends and admirers would be stunned to know the truth: that the merriest widow in London is also the loneliest. Behind the gaiety and smiles lies a secret longing—for something, or someone, to whisk her away…

    One Reluctant Suitor

Raised in scandal, Lord Michael de Grey is convinced that love is a losing gamble—and seduction the only game worth playing. But when duty threatens to trump everything he desires, the only way out is marriage to a woman of his brother’s choosing. Elizabeth Chudderley is delightful, delicious—and distressingly attractive. With such a captivating opponent, Michael isn’t quite sure who is winning the game. How can such passionate players negotiate a marriage of necessity— when their hearts have needs of their own?

  • Sugar on Top

Sugar on Top by Marina Adair

Sugar on Top by Marina Adair is 99c! This is book 2 in the Sugar, Georgia series, and it has a 4+ star average. Other books in the series are also 99c. Readers who liked this one – and there are many – really liked the heroine, who has been living with a bad reputation in a small town after some big mistakes when she was younger. Plus, several reviews mention that the dialogue is very funny. Have you read this one?

    She’s sassy and sweet

The last thing Glory Mann wants is to become chairman of the Miss Peach Pageant in Sugar, Georgia. Spending months hearing nothing but the clinking of pearls and judgment? No thank you! But when Glory is forced to take the rap for a scandal she didn’t commit, the judge sentences her to head the committee. Even worse, her co-chairman is rugged, ripped . . . and barely knows she’s alive.

    He’s ready and willing

Single dad Cal McGraw can’t take any more drama in his life. After a difficult divorce, his little girl became a boy-crazy teenager and his hands are full. The last thing he needs is to spend his down time with the town bad girl. Glory is pure trouble-tempting and tantalizing trouble. But he can’t deny the strong chemistry between them-or how her touch turns him inside out. Now as squabbles threaten to blow up the contest and the town of Sugar itself, Cal must risk everything on the sexy wild card to get a second chance at love . . .

  • Magnate

    Magnate by Joanna Shupe

RECOMMENDEDMagnate by Joanna Shupe is $1.99! This historical romance takes place in the Gilded Age of New York, which is a pretty cool setting. Redheadedgirl read this one and gave it a B:

    TL;DR: NEEDS MORE GROVEL.

New York City’s Gilded Age shimmers with unimaginable wealth and glittering power. The men of the Knickerbocker Club know this more than anyone else. But for one millionaire, the business of love is not what he expected…

Born in the slums of Five Points, Emmett Cavanaugh climbed his way to the top of a booming steel empire and now holds court in an opulent Fifth Avenue mansion. His rise in stations, however, has done little to elevate his taste in women. He loathes the city’s “high society” types, but a rebellious and beautiful blue-blood just might change all that.

Elizabeth Sloane’s mind is filled with more than the latest parlor room gossip. Lizzie can play the Stock Exchange as deftly as New York’s most accomplished brokers—but she needs a man to put her skills to use. Emmett reluctantly agrees when the stunning socialite asks him to back her trades and split the profits. But love and business make strange bedfellows, and as their fragile partnership begins to crack, they’ll discover a passion more frenzied than the trading room floor…

  1. Laurel says:

That Scandalous Summer is a great book, and the first book in a really enjoyable series. Meredith Duran hasn’t published anything since 2018, and I find that sad. Does anyone know if she is publishing under another name?

  2. Lisa F says:

I’ve read all of these but Taming the Legend, and all are fabulous!

  3. Michelle says:

I really liked That Scandalous Summer.

  4. Annie Kate says:

I also miss new books by Meredith Duran desperately, and coincidentally, That Scandalous Summer was the last of her books I haven’t read, so that’s exciting!

I’ll be sad if Duran really is done writing, though. My copy of A Lady’s Code of Misconduct is already about to fall apart, I’ve reread it so often.

  5. Vicki says:

Ms.Duran stated she was on hiatus in 2018 and her blog, twitter, and FB have had no activity since. I am hoping she is OK.

  6. Sydneysider says:

Magnate has a fabulous heroine, and I liked the NYC Gilded Aged backdrop. The hero is very much an alpha-hole and RedHeadedGirl is right, he needed to grovel more. If you don’t mind asshole heroes, it’s worth picking up.
