John Eyre by Mimi Matthews is $1.99! Thanks to everyone who commented and let us know about this sale! This is a retelling of the Bronte classic and has similar elements of a Gothic historical romance. Have you read this one?
Writing Her In by Holley Trent is 99c! This is the first book in Trent’s Plot Twist series, which focuses on poly and triad romances with at least one character (sometimes more) involved in the book industry. It’s been recommend in the comments of Whatcha Reading before. Have you read it?
Taming the Legend by Kat Latham is 99c! This is the fourth book in the London Legends series, which features rugby playing heroes. A few more of them are on sale. This one has a second chance romance, and the third book is also on sale. I enjoyed this series, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read it.
RECOMMENDED: Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas is $3.99 and part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals! So many readers were looking forward to this book when it first released, and Carrie gave it a B+:
Devil in Spring was so delightful that I read it slowly because I had to take frequent squee breaks. I truly cannot sufficiently express how overjoyed this book made me. That said, I don’t think it will be everyone’s catnip, because the main character sometimes seems overly young and naïve, even given her character quirks.
Lighting the Flames by Sarah Wendell is 99c at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere! This is a Hanukkah romance written by our very own fearless leader. You can read an excerpt here, as well as get a peek behind the romance’s inception. We’ve heard it’s a pretty sweet book, not that we’re biased!
A Certain Age by Beatriz Williams is $1.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. This is a historical fiction novel set in New York’s Jazz Age. This book was released earlier this summer and readers loved the sense of place Williams created. It’s also a retelling of an opera, which is pretty cool! However, others found the story a bit underwhelming compared to the jacket copy. It has a 3.6-star rating on Goodreads.
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched. This book is talked about constantly in my monthly book group and readers love the premise. Though it’s on the shorter side. I know I was surprised at that when I bought it in physical form.
RECOMMENDED: Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick is $2.99! It’s a part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals (I highly recommend you check out the rest) and is being price-matched. I listened to this on audio narrated by Kendrick herself and I really liked it. The stories/chapters are short enough to where you don’t lose interest and it has a great balance of being touching, genuine, and really funny.
Knowing the Score by Kat Latham is $1.99 at Amazon! It’s available at other vendors, but for $3.99. This is a contemporary sports romance – set in the world of rugby. I mentioned this book on a previous podcast episode. It has a 3.7 average, and readers at GR liked the humor and the dialogue between the hero and heroine (though some reviews warn of a slow start to the story). Kat Latham also made an appearance in this year’s DABWAHA tournament!
I bought this book on the release date in March 2015, but then put off reading it. Unsure why as I’ve really enjoyed all of the author’s earlier books. Perhaps it’s the fact that this book is the last of a multi-author series (Bachelor Auction) and I didn’t feel like reading all of the other authors’ contributions. Or the fact the book is also the first book in Latham’s Wild Montana Nights series and each … Continue reading One Night with Her Bachelor by Kat Latham→
I’ve slowly been dipping my toe in the contemporary romance pool, and I’ve read another Kat Latham novella before, so I felt safe taking this one on to review. Plus the idea of a railroad engineer heroine and a park ranger hero (one of my high school dream jobs!) made Three Nights Before Christmas even more intriguing. Spoilers full steam ahead! (train pun #1) The book opens with Lacey starting her very last hours in … Continue reading Three Nights Before Christmas by Kat Latham→
