HaBO: Secretary to Convince Hero to Meet His Dad

This HaBO request is from Anna, who is looking for this romance:

I’ve read a book once about a woman (heroine) that is hired as a rich man’s secretary (possibly) and she is tasked to convince the man’s son (hero) to meet his father.

So here is all I can remember:

– The hero doesn’t want to meet or get to know his father at all.

– At first the hero doesn’t know the heroine is connected to his dad and when he finds out, he’s a complete arse to her.

– The hero’s mother owns a flower shop.

– It’s part of a book series.

– I’m absolutely certain that the woman is tasked to convince the son that he should meet with his father but I’m not sure if her position is that of a secretary or assistant or simply as a PI.

– Hero’s father is married and doesn’t have any children besides the hero.

– At the end of the book there’s a party of some sort where the hero grovels for forgiveness if I’m not mistaken.

Anyhow, that’s all I can remember but I can’t, for the life of me, find it anywhere.

Not sure if this is contemporary or historical.

Is it Tessa Bailey’s FOLLOW? I’m not sure if all the details line up, but the heroine is “persuaded” (well, blackmailed) by the hero’s father into bringing his son back into the family fold. Here’s the blurb:

He wants her soul. Too bad she already sold it.

Family is everything to gambling den darling, Teresa Valentini. Blood comes first, especially before men. So when her brother lands himself in hot water, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to save him. And showing up topless in her unwitting savior’s motel room is turning out to be the furthest thing from a hardship…

Will Caruso is the bad boy of New York’s financial scene…and he just found out the very thing that drives his success is a damn lie. Now, he’s exchanged his high-stress life for the open road, no one but his Great Dane…and half a million Instagram followers to keep him company. When a mysterious beauty arrives, her secrecy prods his suspicions, even while she tempts his lust to the breaking point.

Teresa met Will under false pretenses, but the bond consuming them is real. They’re strong enough to overcome a little betrayal…aren’t they?

It is family man by jayne ann krentz? Also the Golden Chance by the same author has similar elements.

I also thought Family Man by Krentz. Great book! But does not fit the description exactly. The hero is the grandson of a woman who is a rich Seattle restauranteur. The grandmother tasks her personal assistant to go fetch her grandson to take over the business.
