Hi! It’s Wednesday again! Funny how this keeps happening, every seven days or so.
Are you in the midst of summer where you live? We are here in New England and I cannot state enough how much I hate this season. At least while I lived in Florida there was central AC.
You know the drill! Here are some links:

Still looking to support more Black-owned businesses? EC Spurlock sent in this awesome directory of Etsy shops! I love a good directory.

If you need a new podcast to listen to, might I suggest Octavia’s Parables! The host take a deep dive into Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents, chapter by chapter. It’s a great chance to read along!

We have started a Twitch channel! Now, you can watch Sarah and I play Stardew Valley together. It’s been a lot of fun and we’ll have a more established streaming schedule in the nearish future. You can also watch some of our previous broadcasts for a limited time.

Enjoy this Twitter moment of Barcelona’s opera playing for an audience of houseplants!
Barcelona’s Liceu opera reopened its doors for the first time in more than three months to hold a concert – exclusively for a quiet, leafy audience of nearly 2,300 house plants pic.twitter.com/lI70EE78RD

I know the RWA collapse feels like it happened 80 years ago, but it was only December. If you’re still catching up or are getting questions from people outside romance wanting to know what the heck is going on, Vox has a great and well-organized recap.

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!
It is summer where I am, but happily the best kind of summer! I live in Alaska, so I feel the pain of nothing having AC when it does get warm, like it did last summer. People were scrambling for any kind of cooling device. So far it has been beautiful, and I know we are very, very lucky.
I’m from the midwest but have lived here for 29 years, and I rejoice every summer that the humidity is almost non-existent. Perfect place for someone who likes nature and cooler weather!
Ooh, thank you so much for the list of Black-Owned shops. As a planner nut, the Erin Condren fiasco has hit me hard so I was looking for other places to spend my money. Seriously, 2020 has felt like learning there’s no Santa Claus every damn day.
@Maureen: but aren’t the mosquitos as big as housecats up there?! 🙂
On the topic of podcasts…I think it was here that I first encountered The Adventure Zone. That has led me to Dungeons and Dames, another D&D podcast that’s an absolute joy. They have such fun! And the only male identifying character has a boob window. That kind of says it all.
This is a serious-but-funny look at the movie “365 Days” which keeps popping up on my Netflix recommendations, but—based on this article—thank God I haven’t clicked on it. Anyway, just curious if anyone has seen it and if it would be worth getting a whole group of female friends together to watch it with wine and an ongoing MST3K-esque commentary. (All joking aside, article is NSFW and full of triggers—as is, I imagine, the movie.)
