  • Bloodline

    Bloodline by Claudia Gray

Bloodline by Claudia Gray is $1.99! This scifi novel is a Star Wars tie-in that focuses on our favorite general and princess! However, this book focuses more on Leia’s time as a senator. This book has been recommended to me countless times, though some readers found the writing a bit awkward. Have you read this one?

When the Rebellion defeated the Empire in the skies above Endor, Leia Organa believed it was the beginning to a lasting peace. But after decades of vicious infighting and partisan gridlock in the New Republic Senate, that hope seems like a distant memory.

Now a respected senator, Leia must grapple with the dangers that threaten to cripple the fledgling democracy—from both within and without. Underworld kingpins, treacherous politicians, and Imperial loyalists are sowing chaos in the galaxy. Desperate to take action, senators are calling for the election of a First Senator. It is their hope that this influential post will bring strong leadership to a divided galaxy.

As the daughter of Darth Vader, Leia faces with distrust the prospect of any one person holding such a powerful position—even when supporters suggest Leia herself for the job. But a new enemy may make this path Leia’s only option. For at the edges of the galaxy, a mysterious threat is growing. . . .

  • Secrets for Seducing a Royal Bodyguard

Secrets for Seducing a Royal Bodyguard by Vanessa Kelly

Secrets for Seducing a Royal Bodyguard by Vanessa Kelly is $1.99. This book has a 3.7-star average and is the first book in the Renegade Royals series. Some readers struggled with the instantaneous lustypants between the hero and heroine while others really liked the heroine’s bravery and her strength. There’s a fair amount of action/mystery/thriller elements in this book, so if that’s your

In this witty, sensual new series, Vanessa Kelly introduces the Renegade Royals, illegitimate sons of the Royal Princes who are finding their rightful places in society…

Accomplished spy Aden St. George prefers to stay away from the frivolous ton, especially after the way his mother was used by the Prince Regent. But his latest mission compels him to guard unconventional, vibrant Lady Vivien Shaw. Rescuing her from kidnappers was easy. Resisting her beauty is not. Duty demands he keep an eye on her—and naturally, his lips soon follow. For someone who views entanglements as a weakness, this is pure, delicious folly…

  • Falling Fast

    Falling Fast by Tina Wainscott

Falling Fast by Tina Wainscott is 99c! This is an emotional, second chance contemporary romance. Readers loved the complicated history between the hero and heroine, but others wanted more conflict to the plot. This is the first book in the Falling Fast series and there’s no cliffhanger either.

Fans of Jasinda Wilder and Colleen Hoover will adore this emotional new small-town romance—a smoldering tale of first love and long-awaited redemption from USA Today bestselling author Tina Wainscott.

Raleigh West works in an auto shop day and night, trying to put his broken past out of mind. It’s been seven years since the fiery crash that landed his teenage sweetheart in the hospital . . . and him in jail. In an instant, he lost everything: his passion for racing, his hope of escaping his father’s shameful legacy, and the only girl he ever loved. Raleigh hasn’t seen her since that awful night. Never got a chance to apologize. And never forgave himself, either.

When brave, beautiful Mia Wentworth returns to the Florida coast for the first time in what seems like forever, it’s not to see Raleigh. Even so, the moment she arrives she can feel his presence like a gust of wind that gives her goose bumps. Opening her heart to him again seems impossible. But staying away? That might be harder still. Lucky for them both, Mia’s never been the kind of woman to take the easy way out.

  • Mary Jo Putney’s Lost Lords Bundle

Mary Jo Putney’s Lost Lords Bundle by Mary Jo Putney

Mary Jo Putney’s Lost Lords Bundle is $2.99! This is a historical romance bundle with full-length novels! I’ll admit I’m a bit confused though. The bundle includes 5 titles and the image has five covers, though the bundle’s description only lists 4 books. Regardless of it’s four or five titles, that still a great deal for less than $3.

    Loving a Lost Lord

In the first of a dazzling series, Mary Jo Putney introduces the Lost Lords—maverick childhood friends with a flair for defying convention. Each is about to discover the woman who is his perfect match—but perfection doesn’t come easily, even for the noble Duke of Ashton. . .

Battered by the sea, Adam remembers nothing of his past, his ducal rank, nor of the shipwreck that almost claimed his life. However, he’s delighted to hear that the golden-haired vision tending his wounds is his wife. Mariah’s name and face may not be familiar, but her touch, her warmth, feel deliciously right. . .

When Mariah Clarke prayed for a way to deter a bullying suitor, she didn’t imagine she’d find the answer washed ashore on a desolate beach. Convincing Adam that he is her husband is surprisingly easy. Resisting the temptation to act his wife, in every way, will prove anything but. And now a passion begun in fantasy has become dangerously real—and completely irresistible. . .

    Never Less Than A Lady

New York Times bestselling author Mary Jo Putney continues her stunning Lost Lords series with this stirring, sensual story of a rebellious nobleman drawn to a lovely widow with a shocking past.

As the sole remaining heir to the Earl of Daventry, Alexander Randall knows his duty: find a wife and sire a son of his own. The perfect bride for a man in his position would be a biddable young girl of good breeding. But the woman who haunts his imagination is Julia Bancroft—a village midwife with a dark secret that thrusts her into Randall’s protection.

    Nowhere Near Respectable

Mary Jo Putney’s riveting Lost Lords series unleashes a high stakes royal plot—which may prove easier for Damian Mackenzie to handle than his own unruly desire. . .

He’s a bastard and a gambler and society’s favorite reprobate. But to Lady Kiri Lawford he’s a hero—braver than the smugglers he rescues her from, more honorable than any lord she’s ever met, and far more attractive than any man has a right to be. How can she not fall in love. . .?

    No Longer a Gentleman

Grey Sommers, Lord Wyndham, never met a predicament he couldn’t charm his way out of. Then a tryst with a government official’s wife during a bit of casual espionage in France condemns him to a decade in a dungeon, leaving him a shadow of his former self. Yet his greatest challenge may be the enigmatic spy sent to free his body–the only woman who might heal his soul.

Cassie Fox lost everything in the chaos of revolution, leaving only a determination to help destroy Napoleon’s empire through her perilous calling. Rescuing Grey is merely one more mission. She hadn’t counted on a man with the stark beauty of a ravaged angel, whose desperate courage and vulnerability thaw her frozen heart. But a spy and a lord are divided by an impassable gulf even if they manage to survive one last, terrifying mission. . ..

    Sometimes A Rogue. . .

Even the most proper young lady yearns for adventure. But when the very well bred Miss Sarah Clarke-Townsend impulsively takes the place of her pregnant twin, it puts her own life at risk. If the kidnappers after her sister discover they’ve abducted Sarah instead, she will surely pay with her life. . .

Rob Carmichael survived his disastrous family by turning his back on his heritage and becoming a formidable Bow Street Runner with a talent for rescuing damsels in distress. But Sarah is one damsel who is equal to whatever comes. Whether racing across Ireland with her roguish rescuer or throwing herself into his arms, she challenges Rob at every turn.

  1. Ren Benton says:

I think the description on the Putney bundle just exceeded the character count. The table of contents has all five books.

  2. EC Spurlock says:

I have Bloodline on my TBR pile and am antsy to get to it as I have heard how wonderful it is. Claudia Gray has also written a prequel of sorts about Leia growing up and how she ended up in the Rebellion https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/563863/journey-to-star-wars-the-last-jedi-leia-princess-of-alderaan-by-claudia-gray/9780525529064/

  3. Lostshadows says:

I borrowed the audiobook of Bloodline awhile back, and all I can say is there was something about it that I just couldn’t get into. Not sure if it was the book or the narrator though.

  4. I’ve read Bloodline, it was fun!

Excellent emphasis on Leia, and I adored to bits that amongst the galactic underworld she now has the nickname Huttslayer. 😀 😀

I actually read this as a library checkout, and have been waiting for the price to come down to nab a copy myself. ON THAT NOW.

  5. I read it last year and absolutely loved it. It does have some parts where you feel like you should be further into the book, but have only read a few pages. Regardless, I still enjoyed it.

Also it made the title “Hutt Slayer” canon for Leia. I actually got up and started yelling when I read that part.

  6. Bu says:

Grabbed the Mary Jo Putney bundle–thank you!

It does indeed contain all five novels.

  7. Katie Lynn says:

Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty is currently $1.99. It’s the second Jessica Darling book (YA series that goes into NA), and usually is $10. I read these when I was YA aged and have been wanting to reread them.

  8. Kate K.F. says:

I’ve finally started reading Bloodline, its been on my TBR pile for ages but reading the newest Leia novel, Leia, Princess of Alderaan pushed it up. And my library hold came in so perfect timing. Its really good, I love how Claudia Gray writes Leia and recommend the YA Leia novel, its about Leia figuring out who she is. It has some romance in it but the focus is truly on Leia’s journey.

A lot of the Star Wars’ novels are worth a read. Ahsoka is wonderful and the Rogue One novelization is one of the best I’ve ever read. The only one I bounced off was Rebel Rising about Jyn, but I’ve been writing a lot of backstory fanfic for Cassian, so I think it was more not the right book for me.

  9. Lace says:

Molly O’Keefe’s Lost Without You is free right now on Kindle – not sure if it’s available elsewhere.

  10. Crystal says:

Bloodline was excellent. House of Cards/Game of Thrones in space, in terms of all the political stuff that goes on. I also just finished Leia: Princess of Alderaan over the weekend, and it was excellent as well. Gray gets Leia. She gets her voice, she gets that she’s hellaciously smart and sneaky, she gets that she’s the bravest at any given time.

  11. Vicki says:

Tempted by the Putney, being put off by how difficult I find it to navigate through the bundles.

  12. Karin says:

“Never Less Than A Lady” is my favorite of the Lost Lords books. Loved the midwife heroine and stalwart hero, but trigger warning for descriptions of violence by abusive former spouse.

  13. Ulrike says:

Bloodline was disappointing to me. The narrator was decent, but the story wasn’t great, and I didn’t feel like the author had a strong grasp on Leia’s voice, which is problematic when Leia is the main character.

  14. Ash says:

The Lady who came in from the cold by Grace Callaway is $.99, I think from $3.99. The lead is one of my favorite female characters (trigger warning: sexual assault). She is a survivor who just evolves wonderfully throughout the whole book, which to me showcased the diversity in experiences and outcomes for survivors.

  15. Jenny says:

Hooray! The Lost Lords are also on sale in the UK 🙂 Thanks for the heads up.

  16. Rose says:

For what it’s worth, I loved Kelly’s Royal Bodyguard. It was delicious.

  17. Beth says:

I loved, loved, loved Bloodline! The author also has another Star Wars book called Lost Stars. It does not have the familiar SW characters in it, but it’s a great book with a very nice romance in it! I’m looking forward to the sequel to that one.
