Stars of Fortune
Stars of Fortune by Nora Roberts is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and the price is being matched! You can also check out the other KDDs here! It’s the first book in a new paranormal/fantasy romance trilogy and was previously nominated for a RITA. One of our guest reviewers said that while the writing was beautiful, there was a lack of conflict that made everything seem really easy.
To celebrate the rise of their new queen, three goddesses of the moon created three stars, one of fire, one of ice, one of water. But then they fell from the sky, putting the fate of all worlds in danger. And now three women and three men join forces to pick up the pieces…
Sasha Riggs is a reclusive artist, haunted by dreams and nightmares that she turns into extraordinary paintings. Her visions lead her to the Greek island of Corfu, where five others have been lured to seek the fire star. Sasha recognizes them, because she has drawn them: a magician, an archaeologist, a wanderer, a fighter, a loner. All on a quest. All with secrets.
Sasha is the one who holds them together—the seer. And in the magician, Bran Killian, she sees a man of immense power and compassion. As Sasha struggles with her rare ability, Bran is there to support her, challenge her, and believe in her.
But Sasha and Bran are just two of the six. And they all must all work together as a team to find the fire star in a cradle of land beneath the sea. Over their every attempt at trust, unity, and love, a dark threat looms. And it seeks to corrupt everything that stands in its way of possessing the stars…

Bringing Delaney Home
Bringing Delaney Home by Lee Kilraine is 99c! This book was mentioned in a previous podcastand in February’s Hide Your Wallet post. Some complaints on Goodreads were that the scenes and chapters felt disjointed at times, which kept readers from connecting with the characters. However, others loved the hero and heroine’s personalities. Is this on your TBR list?
In the sleepy town of Climax, North Carolina, all five Cates brothers are known for being tall, dark, and delicious. But each has his own incomparable love story…Quinn Cates has known Delaney Lyons forever. But after years away from home, Delaney’s a changed woman. A mysterious accident she refuses to talk about has left her hurting–in body and soul–and acting out in dangerous, and occasionally entertaining, ways.
Quinn’s on the local police force, so he’s used to dealing with troublemakers. This one’s pretty incorrigible–but he suspects her flippant exterior is hiding something softer and deeper inside. Every time he has to rescue Delaney from herself, his heart and his hormones both go into overdrive. But he owes it to Delaney’s sister to keep an eye on her. He’s got some experience with that after spending so much time at it back in high school…
Delaney just wants to fend off the gossips, fight off the pain of her past, and make her escape once again. But Officer Cates is ordering her not to leave town, and his interrogation techniques can be very persuasive…

Lady Claire is All That
Lady Claire is All That by Maya Rodale is $1.99! Carrie read this historical romance while sick and she gave it a B-:
The language is quite lovely and the story is both simple and entertaining. The characters are fun – for all his faults, Fox is quite engaging. Claire is utterly delightful. Francesca, the Alpha Mean Girl, is suitably mean and unexpectedly awesome. It’s a lovely world to spend time in, and a lovely collection of characters to spend time with.
In the third installment of Maya Rodale’s captivating, witty series, a marquess finds his fair lady—but must figure out how to keep her
HER BRAINS…
Claire Cavendish is in search of a duke, but not for the usual reasons. The man she seeks is a mathematician; the man she unwittingly finds is Lord Fox: dynamic, athletic, and as bored by the equations Claire adores as she is by the social whirl upon which he thrives. As attractive as Fox is, he’s of no use to Claire . . . or is he?
PLUS HIS BRAWN . . .
Fox’s male pride has been bruised ever since his fiancée jilted him. One way to recover: win a bet that he can transform Lady Claire, Society’s roughest diamond, into its most prized jewel. But Claire has other ideas—shockingly steamy ones . . .
EQUALS A STUDY IN SEDUCTION . . .
By Claire’s calculations, Fox is the perfect man to satisfy her sensual curiosity. In Fox’s estimation, Claire is the perfect woman to prove his mastery of the ton. But the one thing neither of them counted on is love . . .

The Color Purple by Alice Walker and The Eight by Katherine Neville are part of the Kindle sale. The Color Purple is a classic.
The Eight was a best seller in the late 1980’s/early 1990s. It is a book that is hard to describe because it goes back and forth between the French Revolution and the 1970s (the start of the use of computers and OPEC), with a chess set once owned by Charlemagne and trips to Russia and Morocco thrown in for good measure. It is one of those books that I read because someone gave it to me and said, “you must read this.” I think I stayed up most of the night reading it, so it is one of the punches in my Bad Decisions Book Club membership card. It isn’t a romance — but the history and the mystery (especially the spooky parts that don’t get explained) kept me guessing until the end.
@Anne–thanks for the heads-up on The Color Purple and The Eight. I’ve read both, and highly recommend both. Good additions to my kindle collection!
@Anne – the Eight is my all-time favorite book. I bought it in the 80s when it came out in paperback and I was a college student working in a grocery store. Since then, I have purchased it multiple times so I would always have a copy to loan to keep my main copy protected. (I have also bought the ebook at some point.)
@T – thank you!
I love love Jade Island!
