This book succeeds in that it gives an irresistible couple in sweet, goofy Rob and grumpy Marian. I adored this couple for their ability to think outside the box, their easy and complete acceptance of each other, and their banter.

I’m in an unusual position here. Usually, Cat Sebastian novels are endlessly charming and they have caused many a Bad Decisions Book Club over the years. This one didn’t quite hit that same high for me, but I did still enjoy it.
The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood is $1.99! Sarah had the author on the podcast and she picked it as her favorite read of 2024.
Starling House by Alix E. Harrow is $2.99! Sarah and I mentioned this in Hide Your Wallet. I think I wound up grabbing it in audio, but am notoriously bad at whittling down my audiobook library.

At a time when I didn’t have a lot of energy, I was gifted with pounds of joy, laughter, intrigue, and suspense. The Queer Principles of Kit Webb was a fresh approach to historical romance that made me fall in love with the genre again.

A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher is $2.99! This is listed as a Kindle Daily Deal so definitely grab it today. This came out in August and we’re big fans of her books!
The Soldier’s Scoundrel by Cat Sebastian is $1.99! This is a gay historical romance with class differences, which readers seemed to really love in terms of the pairing. However, other reader mention having some problems with the book’s pacing.
