The Art of Scandal
The Art of Scandal by Regina Black is $2.99! This was mentioned on a podcast episode with librarian Robin Bradford, who had this high up on her TBR pile.
“Love would be so much easier if it were perfect…”
On the night of her husband Matt’s fortieth birthday, Rachel Abbott receives a sexy, explicit text from her husband that she quickly realizes was meant for another woman. Divorce is inevitable, and Rachel is determined not to leave her thirteen-year marriage empty handed. Meanwhile, Matt, a rising star mayor with his eye on the White House, can’t afford a messy split in the middle of his reelection campaign. They strike a deal: Rachel gets one million dollars and their lavish house in the wealthy DC suburb of Oasis Springs, as long as she keeps playing the ideal Black trophy wife until the election.
Then Rachel meets Nathan Vasquez, a very handsome, very lost twenty-six-year-old artist, and their connection makes Rachel forget about being the perfect politician’s wife. As Rachel reawakens Nathan’s long-dormant artistic aspirations, their attraction becomes impossible to resist. But secrets are hard to keep in a town like Oasis Springs, and Nathan has a few of his own. With the risk of scandal looming and their hearts on the line, they’ll have to decide whether the possibility of losing everything is worth taking a chance on love.
The Art of Scandal is a sizzling, conversation-starting debut about rekindling passion, the transformative power of art, and finding love in unexpected places.

Bella and the Beast
Bella and the Beast by Olivia Drake is $2.99! This is part of the Cinderella Sisterhood series, which takes influences from fairy tales. Kinda cool, right? Redheadedgirl gave this book a B-, it had promise with a really neat archaeologist/adventurer heroine, but it wasn’t very memorable.
Bella Jones’ father, Sir Seymour Jones, was an explorer/adventurer who revealed to her on his deathbed that the late Duke of Aylwin, whom he helped inquire antiquities in Egypt, had promised him half of a pharaoh’s treasure. However, Bella must find the map to the hidden trove to prevent her and her brother and sister from living in poverty.
Bella takes a job as a curator working for the late duke’s son to help him catalogue his father’s artifacts in London. She doesn’t reveal who she is or what her motives are, but when the attraction between them because impossible to ignore, the issue of the hidden treasure becomes a more complicated secret than either of them could ever imagine.

A New Leash on Love
A New Leash on Love by Debbie Burns is 99c! This is the first book in the Rescue Me series. Readers say this book has a slow burn romance and lots of cute animals. However, some felt the slow burn was a little too slow.
First in a fresh contemporary romance series from award-winning debut author Debbie Burns.
Every heart has a forever home.
Megan Anderson loves the animals at her no-kill shelter. She’ll do anything for them-even go toe-to-toe with a handsome man who’s in way over his head. She’ll help him sort out his troubles, but getting too close to an adorable puppy’s human counterpart? Been there, done that, got burned.
When Craig Williams arrived at the local shelter for help, he didn’t expect a fiery young woman to blaze into his life. But the more time they spend together, the more he realizes it’s not just animals Megan is adept at saving-she could be the one to rescue his heart.
Soon, Craig and Megan find that the magic of unconditional love can do anything…even lead to their forever home.

Love Lessons
Love Lessons by Sidney Halston is $1.99! This contemporary romance was mentioned in Hide Your Wallet last August. It has the surprise pregnancy trope, which may or may not be your think.
Abbott Elementary meets Ali Hazelwood in this spicy rivals-to-lovers rom-com starring two kindergarten teachers whose one night stand leads to an unexpected nine-month lesson in love.
Quirky, free-spirited Valerie Marquez likes to make sure her kindergarten class has fun while learning. Uptight, by-the-book Andrew Wexler is allergic to fun, and loud music gives him a migraine, which makes sharing a wall with the other kindergarten teacher who loves to blast music all day his worst nightmare.
But during the end-of the school year party, their shared tension morphs into a night of wild sex. What neither expected was the surprise consequence of that night.
A baby.
And, if sharing a wall with her nemesis was hard, sharing a classroom with him, while she’s feeling hormonal and hungry, is much harder. Turns out that co-teaching isn’t the hardest thing they’ll have to overcome. Trying not to fall in love with her baby daddy is much harder.

This is form anyone who wants to be able to back up kindle e-books, or convert them to format. It is an expanded/reformatted follow-up to a comment I posted awhile back. I’m doing this because I did not do a good job of telling you want to do. This will work with any version of Calibre, but you will need specific Kindle software and a couple of plug-ins. I presume this is similar on non-Windows platforms, but I don’t use those. You will need Kindle for PC 2.4.70946. So far as I can tell, this does not work with versions higher than this, although this seems to work wiath a rang of kindle for pc versions beginning with 2.0.70301. It’s possible this might work for ones lower than that, but I don’t know. While Kindle for PC has been updated since, this software can still be downloaded other places. The plug-ins you will need are DeDrm Tools 10.0.9, which is a beta for a release which isn’t out yet, but still works for this purpose and KFX input. The first will have to be installed manually, also known as load plug-in from file, while the the second can be installed by going through the list of plug-ins available in Calibre. After your software is registered, and automatic updates turned off, you should be able to download and remove drm. For what it’s worth, this might work for downloading via USB, but I don’t use this method.
