Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Hi, everyone! How’s it going?

My partner and I recently celebrated our anniversary in two parts. Part one: finding a cool local cocktail bar that serves gourmet hot dogs and grilled cheese. Part two: eating a charcuterie spread in bed while we watched Dropout programming. Hell yeah!

I also left my phone at home and was left alone with my thoughts on my commute. However, it was the perfect excuse to open my kindle (and pray that it had battery). I started a book and IT’S BEEN SO GOOD. Guess I just need to throw my phone out the window.

Thanks to Sue for sending this link, introducing us to a furry new plant species!

Fast Company has an article on ways thrift stores are trying to fill the large gap the closure of Joann Fabrics will leave behind.

It’s always nice to be reminded of how great books are. Catscatscats sent in this article about how romances helped Lucy Mangan through grief.

Love the Lucy Mangan article! The guaranteed happy ending in romance is so underrated. I get lots of stories about misery in the real world. I know that misery and unhappiness and bad endings happen. Happy endings provide some hope and solace in the world.

Thank you for the article about the creative reuse stores. I have boxes of fabric that I purchased when I was younger an sewed often. And now I’ve found a local shop that may appreciate my stash more than the thrift store that receives our usual household donations.
