I would read any of these books just based on the covers. All of them are gorgeous!

They’re the unsung heroes of book sales; after all, unless they’re familiar with the author, very few people will pick up a book in a store if the cover doesn’t appeal to them.
Vampires… reminds me of a 1950s movie–so bella!

Murder… is just gorgeous.
Rains… the swirling colors are such a vibe!
Sad to report that Where it Rains in Color does not live up to its gorgeous cover. I DNF’ed it after the POV suddenly shifted from that beautiful woman on the cover (just as her story was about to get interesting after a bunch of world building!), to some sad space guard guy (in a different location, so it was time for more world building).
I read “Murder Your Employer” last spring and it was fantastic! (I had a hard time believing it was the Pina Colada guy, too.)
Country Gentlemen (ooh, K J Charles, you know the book will live up to its cover): @Amanda Look at all those cute animals! Do you suppose the animals are looking at each other? The fox is scoping out the hare’s trajectory, while the heron is thinking how tasty the snake looks.
Murder Your Employer: If “McMaster’s Guide to Homicide” is a series title, I am all for it–which is more than can be said of the kinds of series you meet in That Other Cover Feature.
Pina Colada guy also produced a great show called “Remember Wenn”. It aired on AMC years before that channel was taken over by zombies and was set in an American radio studio around the start of World War II.
