The Vanishing by Wendy Webb is $1.99! This is a Gothic mystery. I’ve seen Webb’s books before recommended in the comments. I think Webb’s books usually have romantic elements, but please correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m so distracted by the cover for A New Leash on Love. At first glance, it looks like there’s a pair of legs with no body on the right. On second glance, I see the white sweater, but I still can’t unsee the disembodied legs.
@cleo – yeah, those disembodied legs are on the left, not the right.
@Cleo: And the guy’s legs are weird. Knees around his ankles, butt up around her boobs. They seem to be standing in a straight line so ….??
re A New Leash on Love, I agree the cover is awkward, but I enjoyed the book. The ability of an author to write slow burn (hello, Mariana Zapata!) fascinates me. Although five years later, I only remember that I enjoyed the book – no details.
