  • Know You By Heart

Know You By Heart by Tif Marcelo

Know You By Heart by Tif Marcelo is $1.99 at Amazon! This is book two in the Heart Resort series. The hero and heroine are in a fake marriage and are trying to save the hero’s struggling resort.

From the USA Today bestselling author of In a Book Club Far Away comes a delightful installment in the Heart Resort series about finding love that’s been right in front of you all along.

As the oldest child in his family, Chris Puso has always taken his responsibilities seriously. He’ll do whatever it takes to ensure Heart Resort’s success. Four and a half years ago, that meant marrying Eden, a woman he admired but didn’t love, to access a family trust that benefited them both.

Eden Puso, a.k.a. romance author Everly Heart, believes in true love—in her novels, at least. But her marriage to Chris was more about funding her writing career and supporting her family than finding her happily ever after. And despite their mutual attraction toward one another, they stayed loyal to the contract…for the most part.

With six months until the end of their contract and with their careers taking off, their marriage of convenience has become, well, a little inconvenient. A competing resort threatens to usurp Heart Resort, and Chris and Eden band together to preserve its reputation, including doing a retreat themselves. But as the retreat uncovers their history and their hidden love for one another, can their relationship survive so their partnership reaches its natural conclusion?

  • Provenance

    Provenance by Ann Leckie

Provenance by Ann Leckie is $2.99! Leckie is an autobuy author for a lot of sci-fi fans and while this book is set in the same world as her previous trilogy, I wonder if you need to read those to understand this one. If you know, please leave your thoughts in the comments!

Following her record-breaking debut trilogy, Ann Leckie, winner of the Hugo, Nebula, Arthur C. Clarke and Locus Awards, returns with a thrilling new story of power, theft, privilege and birthright.

A power-driven young woman has just one chance to secure the status she craves and regain priceless lost artefacts prized by her people. She must free their thief from a prison planet from which no one has ever returned.

Ingray and her charge will return to their home world to find their planet in political turmoil at the heart of an escalating interstellar conflict. Together, they must make a new plan to salvage Ingray’s future, her family and her world, before they are lost to her for good.

  • The Most Eligible Lord in London

The Most Eligible Lord in London by Ella Quinn

The Most Eligible Lord in London by Ella Quinn is 99c! This is book one in Quinn’s Lords of London trilogy, which is her newest series and a bit of a spin-off from The Worthingtons series. Quinn’s romance are usually lighter and fluffier in tone, which isn’t my personal reading jam, but it might be yours!

In this captivating new Regency trilogy, bestselling author Ella Quinn picks up where her beloved Worthingtons series left off, as three Lords of London discover true love at last…

Handsome, rakish, incorrigibly flirtatious—Fredrick, Lord Littleton, is notorious. Lady Adeline Wivenly is resolved to keep him at arm’s length during her first Season—until she overhears another woman’s plot to trick him into marriage. Even a rogue is undeserving of such deception, and Adeline feels obliged to warn him—only to find herself perilously attracted…

In the past, Littleton’s charm nearly got him leg-shackled to the wrong woman. Now he’s positive he’s found the right one, for Adeline is everything he wants and needs in a wife. Her sense of justice is so strong she agrees to help him despite her mistrust. But can the ton’s most elusive lord convince the lady he is finally serious about marriage—as long as she will be his bride?

  • It’s Raining Men

It’s Raining Men by Julie Hammerle

It’s Raining Men by Julie Hammerle is $1.99 at Amazon! It’s available elsewhere, but doesn’t seem to be price-matched. Judging from the description and reviews I saw on Goodreads, this one seems to skew more toward Chick Lit rather than a conventional contemporary romance.

    Don’t drink and text.

Even on the cusp of forty, I had to learn that the hard way. After discovering my best friend–who I was supposed to grow old and single with–got engaged, I drowned my loneliness in one too many Old Fashioneds and woke up with thirty-nine responses from every available man in my phone. Including my plumber.

Apparently, my liquor-infused text said that while I don’t need a man, maybe I’d be down for a constant sidekick for movies, plus-one invites, and dinner on the table after my grueling shifts as a concierge doctor–till death do us part. And two men are interested.

Behind Bachelor Door #1 is my old high school crush: the comfortable, dependable boy-next-door. Behind Bachelor Door #2 is the exciting, flashy news reporter about to hit it big. But Dax, the local bartender–who got me into this disaster in the first place–can’t believe I’ve given up on finding true love. But what does a tattooed, broody twentysomething know about carving out a future for yourself, anyway?

Now the further I get into this hot mess, the less I know about who am. And I’m going to have to figure out exactly what I need if I ever want to find a true happily ever after.

  1. Egged says:

I’d say Provenance works as a standalone. There’s definitely stuff you’ll understand more if you’ve read the trilogy, but it’s not required to enjoy the book.

  2. squee_me says:

I wanted to like Know You By Heart but just couldn’t get into it. I think marriages of convenience are hard to pull off in contemporary romance especially when it’s for inheritance purposes. I’m curious if others liked this book? DNF but might try it again.

  3. Laurel says:

Jessica Scott’s Because of You is 99 cents today at Amazon. This is a wonderful book (and the first in a great series). The author is active duty military, and she will spoil you for ever reading any other military romance author – everything rings with authenticity, and the writing is great. I have read this entire series many times. She hasn’t published anything lately, but I if and when she does, I will buy it immediately.

  4. Susanna says:

I would agree that having read the Ancillary trilogy is unnecessary to enjoy Provenance; it just makes some side comments more amusing.

  5. Kareni says:

Like @Laurel, I enjoyed Jessica Scott’s Because of You as well as a number of her other books.
