An illustrated image of a desk space with a computer, stack of books, reading glasses, and a mug.Welcome back!

I’m currently on vacation, sitting by a pool and scheduling prenatal massages. This was booked prior to the baby news; we decided to keep it because who knows how long it’ll be before we can take a trip as a couple again.

I’m six months in and feel like I’ve exploded!

…

If you’re in the Boston area or are visiting, you can now view Elaine Gignilliat’s romance cover art at Lovestruck Books. I’d love to see the exhibit in person sometime soon and I think it’s a wonderful addition to the store.

…

Romance author Bolu Babalola had her wedding covered in British Vogue. The photos are stunning.

…

Did you ever think you’d see Heated Rivalry compared to Moby Dick?

…

Sarah: If you’re a vintage member of the Hot Pink Palace, you might be familiar with Freebird, my older child who was born the same year as this website. He’s in college studying jazz trombone, and his ensemble from last year, the Two O’Clock Lab Band from the University of North Texas, just released a CD.

I’ve mentioned how I listen to instrumental music while I work, and this is now on my rotation, not just because my kid has a solo. If you’d like some jazz, you can stream it on YouTube Music, Spotify and all the places.

…

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

Those wedding photos are wonderful, I will be sending them to my best friend of 17 years as inspiration for her daughter’s future someday wedding. The bride is gorgeous of course, but also check out the bridesmaids, the sister of the groom, the moms, and everyone’s fab dancing dresses for the reception. That looks like a fun party I’d love to be invited to.

^ update: sent to all my closest friends with the caption “may we look half this good someday whenever our daughters decide to get hitched”

Y’all need to see the last few photos of the Bride partying in her Dancing with the Stars -esque lilac sparkly dress, with her equally fab sisters, and a wine bottle in hand.

Wow, that was quite the wedding!

    Enjoy your vacation, @Amanda!!

@SBSarah- awww, thank you for sharing your kid’s music! I have a budding jazz trumpeter (he’s in 8th grade and has been playing for four years now) and his enthusiasm for jazz has been spilling over into the rest of the family. I’ll definitely add the Two O’Clock Lab Band to our playlist rotation (great name too!)

  6. @SB Sarah says:

@emily.c that’s so cool! It’s great having him home over breaks because we get concerts each day while he practices.

The lab bands are all clock times – the One O’Clock is the top level, and he’s in that ensemble this year (yay!). I get to hear him perform soon, too – though it will be 110f/43c (nooooooo).

If you or your kid need info on music programs in the future, please feel welcome to reach out. I hope your kid has a great year of music ahead!

And thanks for sharing the link to your kiddo’s music, @SBSarah! So cool!
